I think if I were a fan of a CFL team I'd feel great about it.
As a Pats fan, I'd feel it would be a ridiculous move for a team with numerous holes. Why use a first round pick on a Slash/Wildcat QB type player, a guy with no real position in base packages who might be able to play half a dozen plays a game - plays that would take the ball out of the hands of one of the best QBs who ever lived?
Everyone had the Pats taking Pat White in the second round too. It was such a strong rumor that the Dolphins wasted a pick to trade up to get him before the Pats.
I never believed that rumor since the start of the wildcat fad, the Pats haven't run it once that I can remember. I don't believe the Pats will draft Tebow especially with so many other spots they need to fill.
I still don't get it. If we want him as a TE then we can probably get Gresham who I would far prefer. If we want him as a QB then we aren't re-signing Brady which I don't see. But they're the only chances I see, that we think he'll be a stud TE or we'll get a QB now then Franchise and Trade Brady. NOT that I think the latter would happen but that's the only way Tebow in the first make sense to me.If Tebow displays teachability and adaptability (which I'm sure he will), along with accuracy (which I'm not as sure of) at the combine and/or private workouts, he'll shoot up the charts. He and Suh are probably the two best players in the draft. The only real question about Tebow is whether or not he has a position in the NFL. If he throws with enough accuracy to ease the minds of critics, he could easily end up at the very top of the draft. If he falls to the second round, I could easily see BB deciding that he's worth the gamble.
Simple - they're lazy and see the Urban Myers connection plus the versatility and that's the pick. I do love Tebow the guy, I just wouldn't take him there.I really don't understand why any draft 'experts' would think the Pats would select Tebow early.
