Another example of how the government can take your freedom from you if you don't pay. It's the only method of actual coersion the Feds have against the People. It's how they wage war on countries that pose us no danger, pay their corporate masters, and keep the people in line. Money is taken from the people and redistributed to the corporations, including the military. The IRS is a dangerous concept and an enemy of the people. The police and the courts are their henchmen. Fu(k them.

Other than that, I have no strong opinion.

Empire supporters usually rest their entire argument on the 16th Amendment, though it says nothing that constitutes mandatory income tax as law.

How do you think the federal judge gets paid, he doesn't want anyone not contributing to his fat over blown salary.

Same with senators and congressmen. ******* disgusting.

I don't feel bad for him. The guy didn't pay, so now he's going away. Tough poop. I hate paying my ^%&&^#@$ taxes. People should do something about it, like demand the government rape us less, as opposed to not pay at all. The bottom line is that you can't screw with the IRS. I have a hard time feeling bad for a millionaire not paying his share. Snipes should've done like Bono & most corps do, claim residence in the Netherlands. Or is it Finland?

One thing I do consider though, is the option of paying a severe fine, as a trade for time served. White collar crimes, to me, don't always require a jail sentence to send a message. Snipes isn't really a danger to the public. Maybe selling each year for a million dollars or something, makes more sense. Just a thought anyhow.

I do not see the value of imprisoning him, garnish the amount owed and let him contribute to society.. going to jail for this type of offense proves nothing, it is not going to Rehab him.. all it is about is retribution. Read somewhere that the US has 5% of the world's population.. 25% of the people in the world who are incarcerated are in the US.

Why is Snipes any different than the rest of us, if you read this Mr Snipes my advice to you that would have solved all your problems and would have made it possible for you to be now sitting beside your swimming pool wearing your thousand dollar sun glasses with all your Hollywood girl friends, my advice would have been, Pay Your F-cking Taxes like I have had to do all my life, you arrogant bastard.
