    No offense to 3tobe4, BUT.............

Anyone else sick and tired of coming to this forum and having 75% of the posts be about religion.

Anyone have anything humorous to share? Amusing?

    Halloween parties coming up?

    Going trick or treating?

You could turn this into the the female Patsfans picture forum if you were of a mind. The mods seem to have a hands-off approach here. Whatever gets the most 'hits,' so to speak, stays at the top. The choice is yours Nikki. Just remember its always better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.

    You're right, Nikki.

Somehow when everyone around you is praising Jesus or arguing about who is or isn't going to hell, a light-hearted discussion of braised penis doesn't seem to generate much interest.

Still, one can but try ...

No clue what you were trying to say with this......

As for Halloween costumes.....I am debating between going as Wonder Woman or as a "sexy" Snow White.

Jeannie from "I Dream of Jeannie" always does it for me. But that wasn't in the choices.

Maryann always looked like she'd showered and shaved the legs and pits, and if there were smellevision, I'm pretty sure that she'd smell april fresh, tropical island or no. Ginger looked like something was just plain fermenting in that skank dress. Samantha from Bewitched? Puh-lease. Not with Barbara Eden in the room in a gloriously primative master-slave fantasy.

Although I do find one thing spooky - Darren I and Darren II were Dick Sargent and Dick York, and some major armament was called the Sergeant York, though I don't remember what.

    Coincidence?

Well, pretty much every culture has a festival of light at the beginning of winter.

India has just had Diwali, for instance (then there is Martinmas, Chanukah and whatever that funny Swedish one is where they go around with candles on their heads).

I'd always thought that Halloween was basically a Catholic festival (the Eve of All Saints Day -- All Hallows) but, apparently, it is also very Irish, connected to the pre-Christian Celtic religion which celebrated the New Year at this time.

Here is an excellent explanation on the web: http://www.serve.com/shea/germusa/hallow.htm

Anyway, Halloween been re-imported to Europe, like so much of American culture, but it isn't as big as it is in the U.S. Partly this is so in the U.K. because we have our own, excellent Bonfire Night on November 5th, celebrating the foiling of the Gunpowder Plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament. I guess I'm "old school" when it comes to this.

Aargh ... I thought Nikki started this thread to save General Talk from just discussing religion ...

"And a little exotic dancer shall lead them."

I'm not certain that is a direct translation, but close enough ;)

Wonder Woman is a cool costume, but something about thigh high red boots for Snow White makes me want to go that route! ;)

I Dream of Jeannie would be a really cute outfit too!! I really need to decide this week, the costume party is Friday night.

I could just go for the obvious and go as a Playboy Bunny LOL!!

I am hoping my costume will score me some Red Fish. Those are my fave candies :D

I can't believe I've given this so much thought but I can't quite recall Snow White wearing red thigh boots in the Disney cartoon.

Uh, feel free to post some party photos if you go that route or, uh, hem, er, you could uh, er, ah, pm me, like.
