I have my serious doubts that McCain can pull this off. The problem is this election is not Obama v. McCain...it's Obama v. Bush. McCain was given a terrible hand by the Bush Administration and it's just a difficult election year for Republicans. If McCain wins, then Obama will be back(guaranteed) in 2012 in which case Obama will win. Obama is going to be president either in 2009 or 2013. There is no way McCain wins and gets reelected. At least if we lose now we can focus on getting a better candidate ready for 2012. I'm not saying we should deliberately lose but I'm just being realistic. Romney I'd imagine would run but he's boring. Sarah Palin might be a good choice. Also, Bobby Jindal, who's another minority, may be a good pick if he can clean Louisiana up. Jeb Bush? i don't think the country will ever elect another Bush to the White House.

POTUS has a double digit lead over the democrat congress. Conservatives are excited by Palin.

Hillary knows McCain has to win for her to have a chance....figure it out.

the whole concept of Palin is she is an outsider, a wildcard that won't get corrupted by washington, won't be swayed by lobbyists, that she'll clean up that mess.

for all the potential for different stuff, there is also risk she will fall flat on her face. same with obama to a lesser extent IMO because he wasn't buried in Alaska.

so do you go with the known commodity or take a rish behind door #2?

conservatives may be excited by palin but what about the rest of the country? even with palin, obama holds a 3 to 4 point lead in polls of likely voters. As for hillary, she's going nowhere after this year - her husband destroyed her political aspirations. mccain would have been far better off facing hillary this year.

I never believed Bush would get reelected. The TV media is almost all left wing. With Fox being the obvious exception and MSNBC being outright socialist. So it always appears the Republicans aren't doing well if you watch CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS, Comedy Central.... Right now I predict on a Wednesday in Nov. this board will be flooded with threads that the voting system is corrupt. And they stole the election again.

The Mayans actually had several different calendars. They had different calendars for different things. Only one of them ended in 2012. And I think it was more of 2012 yeah that's enough for now.

Dukakis had 17 point lead following his convention. What's your point? I mean one poll literally has McCane ahead by 25 another has Obama ahead by about as much. It's all in how the poll is worded and who they question. Poll Emily's list and surprise surprise they're not voting for Palin.

I don't like saying it, but I grudgingly agree with you here. My reasons may be different, but the result will be the same...McCain wins.

Anything that was done 2-3 thousand years ago that is more andvanced than anything we have now, begs the question "How?".

The Mayans and the Egyptians fascinate me.

The silent Americans are waiting to vote, and vote they will, it is very seldom mentioned but many Americans look at their Congress before an election and we all know what this Congress is, a complete disaster, Auntie Pelosi, Weasel Reid and Grinning Schumer are disgusting, don't let your school children even look at pictures of them, don't let your children think that these type of people will always be running our country, tell your children they are sore losing hateful clowns, swine of the worst kind.
