Shea McClellin after four weeks

Do you remember when Blount went down last season? We had to go out and sign a less-than-stellar Steven Jackson.

Lewis or no Lewis, it seems like the team is taking a considerable risk in hoping Blount lasts a whole season through January.

No team can have everything. Risk is part of the business. Look what's happening around the league. You are following probably the deepest (even if not the most talented) roster there is. This team survived no brady, no gronk, no lewis, no ninko, no vollmer, no hightower, no solder, no garoppolo etc period this season .. so there's a good guess it will survive also no bolden no blount.

That's what's amazing about this roster. That it has - against all odds of the NFL* rules and abuse of their powers - such unbelievable insurance for all key players and positions. The emergence of Thuney, Fleming and partly also Cannon solidified and somewhat insured also the weakest link of last season - OL.

Would I like to have Forte on the team? Sure. But it amazes me much more how BB does it with Blounts, Whites, Boldens, Flemings and Cannons of the world ..

Players are evaluated in fewer than 5 games all the time. It is neither an inherently unreasonable nor an inherently pointless thing to do.

Yeah ok..

What kind of money is McClellin making? $1M.. really? You're complaining about $1M salary? or a 1.9M cap hit? Come on.. If you want to complain about a cap him, complain about Vollmer's hit, which is over $5M..
It's at least a $2M cap hit, based on the $6M (!?!) in guarantees (!?!) over 3 years:

Compare that bloat with LB Zach Brown of the Billiards:

Hell, Brown makes less than Jonny Freeny, who's simply garbage:
Jonathan Freeny

Bottom line: McClellin + Freeny = complete, utter wastes of precious cap space that would've been better-spent trying to find more athletic LBs who would've been better fits here than the two aforementioned 3-4
dinosaurs.

McClellan has not done much to justify his spot on the roster.
