Soon to be 4 when Fisher gets the axe.
From sources, it is possible that Fisher will remain with Titans. I have read that senior executives of the Titans are trying to convince the owner to part ways with Vince Young and leave Fisher there.
I don't think its fair to group Seymour with the rest of those guy, Cable is getting fired because Al Davis is crazy and has no clue what he's doing. If before the season someone told you the Raiders would go 8-8 and 6-0 in their division you would say no way, but they have improved a lot under Cable and Seymour has been an asset to them.
Maroney and Moss on the other hand...
Its all part of Bills plan to destroy other teams. Afterall, we are the evil emipre
Agreed. By all accounts Seymour is the veteran leader on that team, and has done a fantastic job in that capacity. Cable had no business getting fired; Al is just crazy. And even in Fisher's case, where I can see that it might be time for him to go, Bud Adams has picked an absolutely ridiculous issue to pin the decision on. Moss has nothing to do with Adams' man-crush on Vince Young.
Maroney, OTOH, sure... I think that McDaniels might have been able to do fine as just a coach, with a stronger GM that had total control over personnel behind him, but the fact was that McDaniels sabotaged himself as coach by doing a terrible job picking players, and Maroney is one example of that.
Vince Young should get the axe!
No Al Davis is just cheap, kind of like the Scrooge around Christmas time.
While Fisher hasn't been fired.....
The coach that traded a second round pick for Armanti Edwards has been. Trading with BB is not a good career move.
So has the coach whose team originally traded for Moss. I'd scrap Fisher from this whole list and put Childress up there, if we're trying to make some kind of consistent point.
Of course, I'd also point out that the Seattle has seen a coach firing during Branch's tenure there and McGinest's post-Patriots coach (Crennel) was fired, whereas Asante, Hobbs and Gay have not seen their coaches fired. I'd hesitate to draw any conclusions based on this premise, it's flimsy at best.
I was going to say, Ficsher hasnt been fired yet has he? Lol
Moss totaled 28 catches, for 393 yards, and 5 TDs for 2010. (for 3rd round pick)
Maroney had 36 carries for 74 yards, and 0 TDs in 2010. (for 4th round pick)
Seymour made the Pro Bowl on rep, in his 10th season. He missed 3 games due to injury, had 36 tackles, 12 assists, 5.5 sacks, 0 forced fumbles, 1 fum rec (for 1st round pick)
Seymour had zero to do with the change in Oakland, Maroney had the same impact on the change in Denver, Moss had no impact on the potential change in Tennessee which is 100% about whether the owner wants to keep his overrated QB or his overrated coach, and the only impact Moss had on Childress losing his job was probably speeding it up from the end of the year to during the season.
Not one guy was fired because of the former Patriots player listed. I will argue that none of them were even more than a very minor reason for the coach's failure and subsequent firing.
And this is why Indy has 9 division championships in a row. Those other three organizations are content with Del Rio, Kubiak, and Fischer doing nothing every year.
True, the title should read 4 QBs Fired This Season (Favre, Gradowski, Orton, Young)
Any owner who chooses a QB not named Brady over a HC deserves what they get
That was not the point at all.
However, none of those players were "saviors" either to their coaches.
Meanwhile, the act of trading away at least 2 of those 3 was seen as a big step back for the head coach who is about to win coach of the year.
P.S. Tonight, it looks like Fisher will survive - - so the count is 3 of those HC's fired.
I would keep Matt Cassel over Todd Haley.
I'd keep Manning over Jim Caldwell, Rodgers over Mike McCarthy, Rivers over Norv Turner, Ryan over Mike Smith, Cassel over Haley... and thats probably about it. I'm sure I missed one or two.
Looks like Fisher is staying, and Young is gone..
