He's going to continue and press for a full investigation. He's a complete whack job.

What a joke. Specter is basically whining that he didn't think the investigation was impartial.

Maybe HE should be the subject of the investigation...but remember this is small potatoes for him..he covered up the MURDER of a Preident...so this to him is NOTHING...

If there were ever a prime example of when a recall election should be held, this would be it. Spector is very lucky that I'm not one of his constituents.

But honestly, we all knew this was going to happen, right?

The man just does not understand football, plain and simple. What a doddering old fool. He invokes what Schlereth said on ESPN re., using tapes in same game. Sheesh.

Can someone say "Comcast"!! This is just one more example of politicians catering to special interests....to benefit several over many...espcially now that the NFL has sued Comcast. This is all just a ruse to exert pressure.

He needs to retire now! But I would think his "investigation" will never be brought to fruition as he does not have the necessary support from other committe members.

Wow - he just referenced a "statement from a former player at ESPN" who detailed how the tapes could be used in game.

This is absurd, and I hope some reporters have some balls to ask him some tough questions.

He just made some comment about how Walsh went into great detail about the significance of the no huddle offense and how it puts the defense at a disadvantage.

That's a revelation? How is that even relevant? I thought this guy was supposed to be a huge football fan.

Spector (paraphrasing): "Matt Walsh is credible with everything he says... except when he says he had the tapes for the entire game, because Mark Schlereth and I don't really want to believe that." Ugh.

I won't listen but your summaries are amusing. As you all know, it's just a Comcast power play.

He just said that Walsh was talking to the coach before the St Louis game and then the coach was worried about where Faulk was lining up for the game...he then says the coach Walsh is talking to is BB...BB NEVER talked with Matt Walsh about anything...that's Walsh's TESTIMONY....this idiot Spectre needs to be censured for this incredible act of slander.

    he wants an independent investigation?

    a-hole

and he opens up his press conference with "when I was asked who I thought would win the Super Bowl, I replied it depends if they allow cheating or not".

he's pandering to Steelers/Eagles fans of course as he's up for re-election

I refuse to believe that a large percentage of his constituents want him wasting taxpayer money like this, results of a long-ago football game be damned.

I would be writing him a letter every single day, with copies to the major news outlets across the state, which would say, very simply,

    Senator Spector,

Since you've gone off on your own crusade against the National Football League and the New England Patriots, _______ U.S. soldiers have been killed in Iraq, unleaded gasoline has gone up _______ a gallon, the U.S. dollar has fallen ___ percent, and _____ Pennsylvanians have lost their jobs.

Get your head out of your ass and start doing your job, which is representing the citizens of Pennsylvania. You have as much business investigating a violation of the rules of a Professional sports league as you do investigating my fantasy football league. Snap back to reality.

    Up Yours,

    Uncle Heatster
