Good point too Deus about the wk 2 matchup against the NYJ coming early, I think that will benefit us greatly.

It sure will be nice to get 1/3 of the divisional games out of the way right off the get-go.

Actually it is a very good point. I've been thinking that the first few games are winnable, but might be rather ugly. Bardy coming back, and the defense learning to gel. But, if Brady is 75% back to normal against a good Jets defense, Tom should still put up more points than the Jets QB (whoever that might be). I think the key to the first half of the season is just avoiding major mistakes. By midseason, i believe the team will really start rolling like in 07.

100% on the over

14-2 at the worst [best case scenario]

You're not afraid to go out on a limb are you? So at worst they will do in a best case scenario is 14-2?

Perhaps you can share what is the best they will do in a worst case scenario.

It'd be tough to be excited about 7-2 with that schedule and the level of expectations we've grown accustomed to with this team. There's only one tough road game there.

I get what you're saying, I'm just not buying into the "hard schedule" thing because of where the tough games are being played. Most of the tougher teams will be playing at the Razor. There are certainly games to be lost on the schedule, I just don't see any "uh oh" games anywhere.

To me, the only tough road games are Indy and New Orleans, although Houston is a bit of a wild card, and Indy may fall back to the pack. With the Jets road game being in week 2, I don't expect the quarterback to be up to speed yet, making that a very winnable game for the Patriots.

C'Mon, you have 3 divisional games in there, games against brutal Tennessee and Baltimore defenses, a road game at Indy...7-2 would be a great start.

Betting lines posted for NFL team season wins - Sports: Upon Further Review - Las Vegas Sun

The New England Patriots top the list of NFL team season-win totals wagering with an over/under of 12 regular-season victories, according to newly released odds at the Venetian sports book on the Strip.

Patriots 12 Under -130, over +100 (even money)

I just noticed this today, not that it's of major relevance, but Vegas has us favored to win LESS than 12--because under 12 is -130.

If you bet over 12 it's even money (UNDERDOG)
If you bet under 12 you have to give up -130 (FAVORITE)

It probably started at 11 1/2, but when the betting increased on the over, they moved it to 12--BUT...with the condition that you have to put up -130.

Just thought I'd point it out---I still like the OVER 12 wins a lot, but didn't notice that the UNDER 12 was favored until today.

edit: this is exactly what happened, as someone pointed out that their sportsbook still has the total at 11 1/2 wins.

12-4. One game better than last year.

Moss has lost a step and the defense takes a while to work together well against the pass. A lot of new faces.
