That's just the liberal version of free speech - put anyone in jail who dares criticize them. Of all the Hollywood Wife Swappers, Sean Penn could be the biggest gutless hypocrite of them all. He just cozies up to every single left wing tyrant he can get next to while bashing America at every chance.

Penn, I'm trying to think of a new dirty word to call him but I've run out, I wouldn't be surprised to see him really flip out and join Al Queda........

In all fairness....I saw the interview with Penn, and he is saying that when reporters (especially in the US) call Chavez a 'Dictator' they are misleading you at best. Say what you will about Chavez's politics....He was ELECTED. They have a democracy, and most of the info we get here in the states is meant to make us think a certain way...and by most accounts, it works. Ask most people what they think Hugo Chavez is, and they will say "dictator".

I think his gripe isnt so much with conservatives, you miss the point if you think that. He is railing on the integrity of what we now call 'News'. I agree with him 100%...not that people should be jailed that deliberately mislead the public, but those journalists who arent doing their JOB, should be fired, and looking for work elsewhere.

Penn manages to say that with a face that says "I want to stab you with a spork".

His called a "dictator for his actions done to his own people especially with regards to political opposition, media, human rights- abuses in line with classic dictators. His own political allies are turning against him stating that he is becoming a tyrant...just like classic dictators.

His control over the country's legislature and judiciary giving him full control over the country is the basic definition of a dictator.

He is a dictator no matter how you slice it. He is a dictator.

He makes outlandish statements to get his name out there...this one by him in the same article is even worse: "Do I hope that those people die screaming of rectal cancer? Yeah. You know, but I'm not going to spend a lot of energy on it."

Now you've "Rained On Their Parade"...................:singing:

Why isn't Penn complaining about the war anymore, I wonder if he realizes it's still going on and that Gitmo is still open (get bush)

Holy mackerel Holy Diver, did you hurt yourself doing those back-flips??

I have two problems with this story. The first is with Penn’s never ending crusade to restore the “good name” of Chavez. Granted he may not be Hitler reincarnated but he is doesn’t deserve to be lifted up as some kind of savior either. The second was the notion that he advanced in no uncertain terms mind you, that people should be jailed for political dissent. What’s even more outrageous is that it even isn’t our own country’s leader that’s being criticized. Penn is an embarrassment as far as I’m concerned. In the end I guess it’s not that big of a deal but all the gymnastics in the world won’t excuse what he said and meant. Where was Penn when General Petraeus was being called “General Betray Us” in that full page ad? Why didn’t he call for Moveon.org to go to jail?? LOL he probably agreed with it.

Penn and others like him (and there are plenty) with all their money, their name and their idle time seem to go on a crusade of trashing the very country and society whose way of life and freedoms gave the dirty scumsucking bastards their very Constitution Rights to do and say what they want and the oportunity to be nothing but Make Believe Actors making millions of dollars from the very country that allows them to do it.

This silly looking little creep should be living in Afghanistan they'd carve his f-cking head off and play soccer with it.

Does Sean Penn know Gitmo is still open, dirty little mother f-cker.

I honor and respect the First Amendment, which gives us four rights that 98.9% of high school seniors are ignorant of. One of them is freedom of speech. (Also, freedom of assembly, freedom to petition, and freedom of religion.)

Freedom of speech is a sacred American right.

So when a pothead--even if a great actor--loser trashes this why is anyone coming to his defense? It's very odd.

Sean Penn went on a vacation with his wife to try to mend the marriage. He can't keep doinking the starry-eyed sluts who come his way. He was caught in bed by his wife with two girls. Divorce was on-off-on-off. Now it's definitely on.

Robin Wright Penn - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
She realizes the dog won't change his spots. At best he's a goofball.

These wonderful actors can play other people better than themselves. As Gertrude Stein said of San Francisco, "There's no there there."

All sean penn is saying is that the news is misinforming you consistantly, and you all get P.O.'d

    odd.

I think he likes Chavez, but efin98 is right, Chavez isn't a supporter of our nation....he should be categorized as a Saddam Hussein type of elected leader, but in the end...when the media calls him a 'dictator' , they are spinning you a lie to make you think a certain way.

The anger at penn is focused in the wrong direction. The dude IS an actor, he ISN'T the press.

.....and Is Penn a supporter of our nation? Maybe his particular version of our nation. Look it, you're right of course, he's just an actor who thinks he's way more influential and important than he is. Point taken that the news misinforms us regularly and some anger should fall in that direction but that said he did make an asinine statement that cannot be defended. He’s obsessed with protecting him as evidenced by his prescribed punishment for those that he thinks are being too harsh on poor misunderstood Hugo(sorry Sean, don’t have me arrested for that). He's like a lot of hypocrite fringers that are the first to cry foul when their rights are challenged and at the same time think that they can deny the same rights to those that don’t think like them.

"The Dude" is a f-cking ass hole that spends most of his time knocking and trashing his own country, France or Cuba would love him, he doesn't seem to have any love for his own country he should get the hell out, if I don't like my neighborhood I move.

The guy is a dictator, by definition and by action. Sorry if you do not agree with that fact but the man is a dictator.

Penn doesn't like differing opinions, his statement on Haiti supports that. He also thrives on controversy to get his name out there to distract from his personal life. He will come along in a few months and say something else to get his name out there again when he needs support for his latest project.

Sunday night he was thrown out of one of the Oscar events for trying to cause a fight with his estranged wife's boyfriend, which gives credence to this. He knew people wouldn't be talking about the fight or the breakup if they were talking about his political statements

Here's another one from"The Creep Penn"

A Yeas & Nays reporter was publicly berated and threatened to be escorted out by police on Thursday night when the reporter asked actor Sean Penn a controversial question about his humanitarian work in Haiti.

Penn, who recently has been criticized for his motivations in helping to rebuilding Haiti, recently told CBS News he hopes his critics "die screaming of rectal cancer."

Read more at the Washington Examiner: Yeas & Nays reporter booted from Sean Penn event | Washington Examiner

Imagine The Left Wing Media whailing and yowling there would be if somebody like Sarah Palin said that her critics should "die screaming of rectal cancer" wouldn't it be ironic if this weasel Penn happened to suffer that very fate.
