Scott Brown - U.S. Congress Votes Database - The Washington Post

votes with his party 66% of the time......pretty reasonable margin and sounds to me like he actually puts thoughts into his votes and for what makes sense.

since warren has never been there, let's go with the sr/ senator from MA
John Kerry - U.S. Congress Votes Database - The Washington Post

kerry votes with party 97% of the time.....so he is actually 'one of them' in that he is deeply rooted in the notion that the democrats are 100% (actually 97%) of the time.

I, for one, am not as trusting of someone who almost unanimously votes along party lines.....tells me the guy does not have his own voice. there is a risk that we will have 2 blind voters.......that is not good for the people of this state

I think it's pretty simple what the Brown campaign is doing with the "One of us" slogan: They're trying to paint Warren as the outsider carpet-bagger, which she is. We have a history of that in Mass including many of our recent governors (including Patrick, Romney, Weld, etc...).

While we're on the subject of moderate, bi-partisan Republican Senators from Massachusetts, this might be a good quick read. Pretty interesting guy.

they don't have to paint warren as an outsider, and why would they want to anyway? outsiders score points for being outsiders.

she is, however, part of the problem of consistent misrepresentation.

she has lied alot more than brown, and she's never been elected to an office

Lied about what? Do you have a ledger showing the tally of lies during this campaign? I assume you're referring to the Cherokee heritage thing. What else?

I've said that Brown many times in various threads. Scott Brown is one of us.He is a died in the wool massachusetts New Englander.
He is an everyday guy that walks and talks like us.
He has earned a full term in the senate based on the last two years.

Liz Warren is a lying carpetbagging communist that has absolutely nothing with the common man in Massachusetts.

    - her tax returns.....not submitting them is tantamount to a lie
    - her caring about people when she was paid to care about a company in an asbestos suit
    - making up repeated lies about browns stance on abortion
    - making up repeated lies about browns voting record

two things that immediately pop into my head......what has brown lied about?

That's four things that are very weak. But this isn't about your inability to count.

And using dis-information and truth-bending from Brown ads rules out the second one. Not blaming Brown. That's what you do in campaigns. Bend the truth as much as possible.

If she didn't submit her taxes without a legal deferment, then she's likely looking at jail or big fines. Otherwise, she's just submitting her taxes later than the deadline, which is allowed. I've done it plenty of times. You fill out a form with an estimated. That's not "lying".

What do you mean by "making up repeated lies about browns voting record"? Anything you can specifically point to?

    You throw em out.
    I catch em.

How was Romney a carpet-bagger? He bought a house in Belmont in 1972.

Romney doesn't even say Massachusetts. "My state".

The man is ashamed of this state and doesn't say the word because he knows the the kids down south will froth at the mouth with "socialism!!!!"

Because at the very least it wasn't his principle residence. I'm not sure he still owned the house when he ran for governor because he listed his sons house as his place of residence

He has been registered to vote in Belmont since 1972. He moved to Salt Lake City to help run the Olympics for two years (which came after his wife went to Utah seeking treatment for M.S.). I get it that you don't like the guy but there is no reason to misrepresent who he is.

except that your excuse making is very weak and you appear to be much more tolerant of your candidates misbehaviors......a very typical liberal philosophy

Yeah, you're right. On paper, he does look like he's from "the M-word", so technically, you have a point. I'm sure Willard does a fine job of misrepresenting where he's "from" and doesn't need my help.

His wife went to Utah for treatment for MS? That's good. I guess she couldn't find any good hospitals in her "home state". Good one, though.

I voted for Brown. I may still vote for him, but Warren's going in heavy on a problem that I believe is key to fixing the economy. She's still interesting to me, which is why I really wanted to see that last debate. Maybe they'll reschedule it for later in the week. Brown's doing his job, so I get it. Just saw his schedule for the day. Good for him and it's what I would expect.

My excuses are no weaker than your accusations, though So...again...What do you mean by "making up repeated lies about browns voting record"? Anything you can specifically point to?

Wista - aren't there people who travel all over for specific treatments for various aliments?

I don't pretend to know Mrs. Romney's convictions, but there are quite a few people with aggressive Cancers who go to the Mayo Clinic in MN for treatments for instance.

A quick search of the Top MS treatment centers in the US indicates that none are in our beloved Commonwealth.

My bad. Good for Anne. A bit of parochialism on my part. So what's the place in Utah?

The Mellen Center for Multiple Sclerosis:
This center is a part of Cleveland Clinic’s Neurological Institute. It is renowned for its state-of-the-art facilities and specialized care in offering treatment for multiple sclerosis. The Mellen Center has been identified as one of the world’s largest and the most comprehensive multiple sclerosis treatment and research centers.

Not sure where she went. I was just going with the "if I/loved one had an illness and a limitless supply of $$ I would go to the ends of the Earth to find the best means to treat it".

Now having said that, MA and New England have some awesome Medical Centers...but I guess none of them have "state of the art" MS treatments
