Schefter: BB WILL be summoned...sooner than later

Mangini was with the Pats for a while so he obviously knew what to look for.

Makes you wonder how long this has been going on for.

TD on NFL network just posed the same question, he also said the NFL should use the College rule where the Patriots can go undefeated but not make the post season, TD said Teams would definitely think twice before cheating if they new "if caught" it would mean no playoffs. I think it should be a rule where if you're a crap team without a shot at the playoffs you lose a DP if you're a strong team with a very good shot at the playoffs then you lose you playoff rights for that season. That way you cover everyone.

Yeah and TD we should just go back and put a big asterisk on the records he had in the late 90's,because of the cheating offensive line man and the manipulating of the salary cap... Anti Patriots sentiment all around...

On the bright side, when you go 0-2 against the Pats this year, you'll have something to blame and it won't hurt as bad, right?

This has to be one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard, for two reasons:

(1) How dumb of the league would it be to have a team that has 15 games to play, nothing to play for themselves, and have to play a lot of the top teams in the league? Think about the problems this could cause (eh, let the Chargers win, but let's screw with the Colts!).

(2) The only way to prevent that would be to cancel the remainder of the season--and then you cost teams that did absolutely nothing wrong millions of dollars.

BB might get suspended, the Pats might get fined, they might lose draft picks, but THAT is damn unlikely to pass.

He has a point about the salary cap. Broncos were fined $1 million and lost a 3rd round pick because of off-the-books salary they paid to their players between 1996 and 1998, during their Super Bowl run. One or two of those players may have been the difference.

Unfortunately the league scared ****less of the Pats right now, especially having witnessed the Brady-Moss show on Sunday. The league realizes the only way it can even hope to maintain parity is to use off-the-field means to slow down the Pats. So here we are.

Maybe the reason the Pats are being questioned is because everyone else cheats within the rules. Maybe the Pats are the only ones using their own sideline film crew.

I understand that the pats are being accused of "breaking the rules". But you have to admit purchasing a tape and knowing brady's audibles and practicing with that knowledge etc... gives you more of an advantage than stealing signs with a camera during the game.

They broke a rule, fine punish them but the league should not go over the top and try to make an example of the patriots for an rule that was made to prevent things that happen legally all the time.

It's kinda like making drunk driving illegal only if you drank at home, not if you drank at a bar...

Anyhow this whole situation is stupid, hope it dies quickly, but it wont because everyone hates the pats.

This is what you don't get ....IT WILL NEVER go away.....If the Pats make it to the playoffs.....here comes the comments about "how the pats cheated to win games the "past few years".....and what about if they make it to the SB.....Media frenzy would be unbearable........nope....this thing will never go away.........Just something we as fans will have to get used to hearing....and defending....over and over again.......What one stupid and selfish act by BB and or his coaching staff.....has set in motion....
BS - the 49ers won 5 Super Bowls and the Broncos 2 and both later got caught for cheating on the salary cap - but do any of the talking heads ever bring that up when lauding the greatness of Montana, Rice, Walsh, the Catch, Elway, Davis, the Drive, etc. etc. etc.?

It was put in front of the commish and Miami was found to have done nothing outside NFL rules.
