First Read - Rolling Thunder: Sarah Palin not invited

I guess it's a good thing she quit halfway through her term. Otherwise she'd probably have to go to some local Alaskan observance that it would cost Fox all sorts of money to go out and cover.

I wondered about that.....Most times people who plan rallies, especially such well-organized and traditional rallies such as Rolling Thunder, invite their speakers well ahead of time.

It takes some kind of narcissism to just assume you can show up at the last minute and everyone will gladly jetison their year-long plans and shuffle their invited speakers in order to accomodate you.

Perhaps Ms Mitchell should have talked to more than one person at Rolling Thunder:

Sarah Palin Rolling Thunder Invite - Ted Shpak - Andrea Mitchell | Mediaite

Rolling Thunder Riders Praise Sarah Palin's Participation in Rally - The Note

Seems like a miscommunication within the organization probably won't matter to the haters though.

No more so than it will matter to the "fawners," either.

Actually, the first link (Mitchell's byline) mentioned DePaulo.

Why does your first link say Palin RSVP'd "too soon"? I think they meant too late.

The real question, for anybody who cares about whether she was invited, appears to be whether DiPaolo, as a former Board member, was in a position to invite her. But as the first spokesman (Shpak?) stated, she didn't need any invitation.

    That doesn't matter.

Because accuracy in reporting doesn't matter? And even if it did, etiquette matters even less. I mean, who cares if someone doesn't RSVP in the time frame specified? It's on a par with knowing how low to bow to a foreign dignitary or where to touch the queen or when to stand up and make a toast at a state dinner. It has no bearing on how much a political figure knows or doesn't know and no Tea Party member or Republican ever concerns himself with a breach of etiquette.

Seems the PEOPLE at Rolling Thunder are supportive of Palin anti media according to tweets from CBS reporter:

That's true...if the crowd is, as reported, "pretty anti-media," as well as "protective of her," then no one's going to get close enough to report anything, are they?

To me the real question re Palin and the troops is what she has ever done to actually support them and what she supposedly would do.

I suspect she's like most pols, who use the troops for photo ops and soundbites but never actually act to support them.

Looks like Sarah's coming back to "Stir up the loons" MSNBC will devote 24 hours a day to ranting and raving about her.

Palin has learned a lot the hard way about America's Left Wing Democrat Obama Media and I doubt that some Silly Liberal Sh!t Head like Katie Couric will ever slap her around again, there doesn't seem to be much more they can do to her family all their skeletons are out of the closet so it's now time for Sarah Palin to start sending them all to their Shrinks, Mush Mouth Matthews will be the first to "Nuts On Air" nobody at MSNBC will stand or sit in front of him when he's "On Palin" he spits.

This whole thing is being billed by Matty Drundge and the rest of the right wing pundits, as an "excursion into enemy territory"... interesting concept.

And this country is not polarized???

A more appropo term might be "Sarah's Magical Mystery Tour."......

I think it's good to have people like Palin ... out there speaking her mind. But to represent our country ... or should I say to make believe she wants to represent our country to fill her pockets is just plain wrong and embarrassing.

Actually she has sent her son into the Army and he has served in Afghanistan (not sure if he is still there), so she supported the troops by sending her flesh and blood to serve.

She didn't do a thing, he did.

Her son serving doesn't mean she's done a thing to actually support the troops. If she has done anything, it separates her from a lot of her fellow pols who do nothing but pay lip service.

I'n pretty sure she had about as much say-so in her son's enlistment in the Army as she did for her daughter getting pregnant....which is to say, none at all.

As for her being the one to "send her flesh and blood to serve in Afghanistan," the army was the one who did that. Unless she wrote them a letter begging them to do so it was their choice, not her's.
