That's not exactly what it says, wes. Close...
Now seriously--I have no problem with same sex marriage. I'd prefer the term be reserved for one man and one woman, yada yada--but it's not worth getting hung up on. But in all seriousness, the state needs to pay to get a lesbian knocked up? WTF? Seriously now, do even the lefties on this board think the state needs to pay to shove sperm into lesbians?

It seems to me it should be an elective procedure. If they're going to pay for that, they should pay for Lasix and tattoo removal as well.

And--since no one brought it up (LOL)...does the state pay for infertile hetero couples to get knocked up, or is this a special treat reserved for those among us who are "different" yet want to be treated the same.

    It's just ridiculous.

    Thank you.

Yeah...and what's that got to do with anything? I didn't say it hadn't, or that you said it hadn't. I took issue with them giving free sperm to lesbians. Try to keep up...it's not that hard. I use mostly simple words just for your benefit.

No-one here wants gays to not be free - has anyone talked about banning homosexual acts ? Whether the privilege of marriage should be bestowed on them is a totally different question and has nothing to do with freedom.

If those freaks want sperm they should get a boyfriend and do it the old fashioned way - it can't be THAT bad, can it ? :D

I know a woman who used her brother in laws semen. He did his thing in a cup, she mixed it with some warm water and inserted with a turkey baster. True story, the woman was a friend of one of my college professors who told the story.

No muss, no fuss, and no freakin distribution of the taxpayer's money.

Wow, I lived in Norway for a couple years. Great country. Beautiful place. Higher standard of living than here thanks to its social democratic economy. One thing about their taxes, you paid 50% tax in December so you could afford to buy gifts and 0% in July so you could afford to go on vacation. I really liked that. Also, Norway is expensive, but gorgeous. There's nothing quite like the fjords. I used to go out with friends in a small boat and rip mussels off the side of the fjord. We would also put out a net and the next day capture things like grouper fish and even a small cold water shark.

That's all well and good, but what do you think of the government planning to pay for lesbian women to get knocked up?

Do you happen to know if they also fund heterosexual couples with fertility problems?

Yeah that was a nice little paragraph Patters but . . . totally irrelevant.

I'm pretty sure they do. I was a manager there when I first lived in Europe, in 1987, and I recall one of my staff dealing with this, but I don't remember the specifics. Also, in Norway, like Sweden, a parent gets 6 months off with pay, which can be both parents for 3 months, one parent for 6 months, or each parent for 3 months. Really great family values, and they're not nearly as religious as we are.

And, for BF, it's not irrelevant. Norway is a beautiful country in many ways, and if a rightie went there, they'd see firsthand how well social democracy can work, which would also serve as an argument for American liberalism.

Other than adjusting the tax payment schedule slightly, everything you said was about the geography and it's usage. Did "social democracy" create the fjords ???
