Not sure if anyone caught Sal's report on Mike & Mike this morning, but they showed Brady behind the scenes before the press conference and Sal said that it was obvious that Brady was favoring his right leg/ankle and that it is obvious he is 'hurt'.

To me Sal was making a bigger story out of this or trying to. They showed Brady walking and he looked fine walking off the plane and when the showed him behind the scenes. Hey, he could be right. He was there and I wasn't, but to me it seems like he is trying to get more legs (excuse the pun) out of this story.

He was definitely walking gingerly off of the plane. It is what it is. His ankle is hurt.

?? I watched the whole time, and he was striding fine. No limp, nothing.

I just watched the same report and thought the same thing... it was actually kind of funny.

I thought he looked fine too. There is no way that could be called "walking gingerly".

ESPN is ridiculous. Yesterday during the day they reported Brady was walking "with no noticable limp" at the rally.

So in a span of 12 hours they reported Brady was not limping AND noticably limping.

No, but seriously. Did the guy leave acting and become a sports guy?

Brady said this morning the ankle was "between 10% and 90%"

Yeah, his interview on EEI was good, I can't understand how people don't like this guy. But that's for a different discussion. When pressed about how it felt (after he said 'between 10 and 90%') he said "it's almost there". My guess, it won't be perfect for the Super Bowl, but will be considerably less than an injured ankle. Now lets just hope that he doesn't tweak it/have it roll over on him.

Seriously, this is the only thing that can derail the Patriots. Perfection is not achieved minus Tom Brady, period. I'd be happy if he's playing at 70%, because that's still better than all but a small handful of QB's in the league.

Although he claimed temporary amnesia regarding his 2001 injury, that one wasn't nearly almost there until pre game when it was medically assisted to better than ever. If need be they will go that route again. The way he was moving yesterday, I don't think they will need to. They aren't practicing until Wednesday.

Since everyone saw the footage yesterday, Sal is merely touting his superior access as someone who was stationed behind the curtain last night. What was it RFK said, some see things and ask why (were we worried), mediots see things and ask why not (just keep the storyline alive as long as possible)...

This is the toughest team in the league for "insiders" to cover because they have no more access to it than the rest of us.

With all this discussion of Tom Brady's invisible injury, proving that sport writers will grasp at anything for a story line, Randy is allowed to remain unflustered and unstalked. Hoorah!

Meanwhile no one seems to notice that Eli Manning doesn't rank in the top twenty in QB ratings this past season... And the Pats out rushed both Jax and the Bolts who have much better rushing games than the Giants, earned in the tougher AFC. Phil Rivers and David Garrard are much better QBs too by the season's ratings .

Matt Cassell could lead the Pats over these Giants, IMHO.

I thought it was his right ankle that was hurt? Wouldn't he have to be favoring the left ankle then?

Brady is hurt - he's said so himself - but for anyone who's ever had to deal with walking issues you could clearly see evidence that his ankle was bothering him -

TB had his head down looking carefully at each step as he got off the plane, not at all like an athlete normally does with his head up casually looking around as they descend. TB also had an akward stride or two as he got off the stairs and stepped on to the tarmack. Gingerly, seems about right...

Also, when TB went down the little set of stairs after the rally in Foxboro, he was the only one who put both hands on the railings to steady himself even though it was just 5-6 steps - not the actions of someone feeling nimble.
