Deleted for unnecessary cruelty.

Sorry, it's just sports.

Buddy Ryan's overweight son...bullied as a child?
You are really going out on a limb with this theory......LMAO

It's just a theory. He could have been a bully himself, but a lot of bullies were once bullied.

Either way, dude has issues.

Almost as many issues as pounds!

He didn't actually compare them to the Bears. He said that the Bears got blown out on a similar stage and went on to win the SB. Just means it CAN happen, not that it will.

Seriously, I think Ryan is only a front runner coach. The guy doesn't seem he can coach through adversity. Whenever the Jets face adversity, he just gets stupid. Last year he announced the Jets were mathmatically eliminated from the playoffs and now this stupid comment. We all saw last night how he was mentally stymied by what the Pats were doing on the field.

I think if the Jets lose two or three of their remaining games and this team will implode whether they make the playoffs or not.

With reports about the blowout between Bart Scott and his coach surfacing, the team might already be in the process of imploding.

Actually he was comparing the team to the Bears. He was comparing himself to Refrigerator Perry.

I just read about that. Wow. Sounds really epic, especially the part where the coach slammed his headphones on Bart Scott.

Epic.

The Bears entered that game against Miami undefeated at 12-0.

They lost 38-24 and were in that game right into the 4th quarter.

Yeah, the similarities are incredible!
Rex implied he was part of that team. In fact he was 3 years away from graduating college.

It's simply pathological for Ryan to mention the '85 Bears, one of the great all-time teams, in any conversation with the 2010 NY Jets. Loving the fact that some in the NY media are calling him out. Here's the problem for Rexy and the Jets. They went wild with contracts this year because they went ALL IN this year. They went all in and their defense is getting worse and their QB is not prime time.

No 85 Bears team would loose by 42 points. The Bears lost by 14 to the Dolphins, a team from a different conference that had the least tie-breaker implications. The Jets lost to their main division rival in a huge battle for a playoff bye.

And "player's coach" Rex is throwing his players under the bus, even if this ESPN writer is somehow saying he's not:

"We thought going in we had an outstanding scheme," said Ryan, who spread the blame between players and coaches. "We thought we had a great scheme, but the execution was poor."

One play Ryan addressed was Brady's 18-yard touchdown pass to Wes Welker in the third quarter. The Jets were in a blitz package, leaving Welker alone one-on-one with Drew Coleman. Ryan said he'd rather see Antonio Cromartie or Darrelle Revis on Welker in that situation, but the unit "had some confusion" on the play. The result was Welker burning Coleman to put the Patriots up 30-3.

"That was not what we intended to do," Ryan said.

And

He also said quarterback Mark Sanchez (17-for-33, 164 yards) was "sloppy" against New England, though he wasn't singling out the second-year quarterback. He cited missed tackles by the Jets defense, a 13-yard punt by Steve Weatherford and a 53-yard missed field goal by Nick Folk as other reasons for the Jets' debacle

Rex implied he was part of that team. In fact he was 3 years away from graduating college.

I was wondering about his age when I heard that. This is the most absurd thing he's ever said, as if he somehow had something to do with the Bears.

And as to the bullying, what I've read is that his Dad would take the boys into the back yard on a regular basis and beat the crap out of them to teach them to fight back. Rex has talked about the first time that he was able to win the fight as "kind of sad" because it showed the old man's demise.

If this is true, it doesn't just lead to "issues." It leads to a very distorted view of reality.

This is laughable, that Bears team was one of the best ever. No Jets team in History can even stand close to them, certainly not this one.
