He could have a place on this team, and I think he could adjust to the system a little better than some realize, but I don't think the Patriots would be interested in trading up for him. So, this seems like a team created false rumor, and I doubt anyone from Dorsey's camp would deny the rumor, as they would likely see it as a positive.
People talk about Dorsey like he's simply an upfield penetrator, which isn't entirely accurate. Go back and watch LSU, especially the National Championship game. Those without a solid understanding of the game might think Dorsey only had an average outing. The problem with that line of thinking is that Dorsey was getting double teamed, and OSU's having to double him, allowed the other D-linemen to penetrate, and even while fighting a constant double team, Dorsey was able to make some outstanding plays.
Some fans and media types might get to caught up in what a particular player was asked to do within his college system, and not what he could be able to do within other systems. Basically, just because Dorsey played at such a high level within LSU's system, doesn't mean he couldn't adjust to NE's system.
I personally think Dorsey is the best D-linemen in the draft, and could see the Patriots having legit interest in him, but I also think this rumor is BS.
