Patriots sign draft picks Weston, Robinson - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston
How long until cuts need to be made?
Down to 75 on August 31st, 53 on September 4th.
I meant to get all the rookies signed
Alright!! We're ready for the Super Bowl now!
I thought you meant the deadlines and not the total number of players.
Best guess browsing the roster, with Mankins included they are at roughly 79 guys signed so one more signing and they are at the limit. They still have four unsigned rookies so the cuts are coming...
Mankins doesn't count until he signs.
And then there were FIVE unsigned, our top 4 draft choices and Mankins.
Figured it wouldn't...
They still have Amon Gordon listed on their roster but he was cut six weeks ago...that drops them down to 77 making them three under the limit.
For me, only the final cut matters since the cuts before then are to 80 amd 75. We could get to those numbers without any real effect on the roster.
Yeah but then it makes for a boring six weeks if we don't at least discuss the cuts that they do make before then...especially with so many binky players on the bubble until then.
You've captured the unique essence of the wonderfulness of Training Camp season. It's a whole world unto itself seperate from the real season. Each summah I have binks who are subsequently mercilessly slashed and burned before week one. That's why guys like Edelperson are so treasured.
I am interested in the final cuts as anyone, but it is the cutting down to 75 that has little interest for me. I really don't care when any of the following gets cut. For all I know, one or two of these could have already been cut and still show on Miguel's roster. How many of the following are really someone's binky?
G John Wise
DE Kyle Love
DT Adrian Grady
DB Terrence Johnson
S Sergio brown
One or more of them could very well be a binky. The point is it is a slow time and unless there are major stories that come out things like the 80 play max limit cuts will be talked about.
You could ignore what is going on until the 4th of September, but others will discuss it because there isn't anything else realistic to discuss.
WAIT! they cant cut Sergio Brown.........errrr, ummm,,,,,who the hell is sergio brown? I think we'll be ok to cut all of the above
The real important news is, that they signed the rookie QB. Now people can stop worrying about that Brady guy holding out
Separate names with a comma.
