Everyone is having fun when they're winning. How did he react when the patriots were just poking fun at him last year? To quote one LaDanian Tomlinson, act like you've been there before.

This is not gulf. You have to go out there and show some emotion. He hasn't spit in anyones face or called anyone any names or insulted anyone, just showed emotion. He did the same thing last year when he did the Hulk Hogan thing with the hand to the ear thing to the Denver crowd and when he was laughing at that doushe bag Warren Sapp and Sapp threw a temper tantrum. It's only because of LT's "classy" comments is because ESPN is looking to call the Chargers hypocrits. Also, Rivers always has a camera on him and Dierdork is the FIRST to point out his classlessness. I hate that guy

You know how he reacted? By trying to figure out a way to come back from the hole they were in. They drove down field and scored a TD but we were WAY out of it by then. If he could start the game how he finishes then he could be the next big QB.

I could see him yelling at the refs:

"sir, excuse me, what do you call that? WHAT? How could you call that a hold sir? excuse me sir, could you tell me how that was a hold? you're the devil sir! You're the devil. I'm sorry I didn't mean it but you're a mean guy."

The thing is, these aren't his buddies. It is one thing to smack-talk someone you know well. We all take it in stride. You don't go up to a stranger and smack talk him unless you want a beating. This is more like that case.

I really, really am tempted to photoshop his face into a gay sex scene photo but I'm too mature and I really don't feel like looking at gay porn tonight.

Rivers is the biggest idiot in football. What is it about SD QBs? He'd be fine if he'd just shutup and play.

but when he says things like "ada baby", and "i'll be back" I don't consider it REAL smack. ESPN is taking this thing and riding it until it ends. They are going to try to give Rivers a bad name until nobody cares anymore. ESPN is like a soap opera. They always try to fabricate a persons personality, it's rediculous. Anybody who has ever played with Rivers swears that he is a born leader and anyone who has ever met him swears he's nothing but a gentleman. Are you REALLY going to tell me it's smack talk when Rivers walks to congratulate his LB for making a 4th down stop and Cutler was standing there jawing at Phillips and Rivers was the first to see it and he just continues saying "ada baby". Do you think it's smack when Rivers walks off of the Indy field with a bum knee and the fans are cheering by him saying "I'll be back"? Do you really think it's classless or do you just hate the classless saying so much that now you're using it on our QB? As a Charger fan, I love it. He defends his team and has lead us to wins on multiple occasions with his right arm so I wouldn't want anyone else back there.

Of course you do. As a Patriots fan I loved Bryan Cox. And I love Rodney Harrison.

But let's not fool ourselves, there are certain polarizing players in the league who you would likely hate unless they were on your team. And face it, that's Rivers.

Between his temper tantrum at the end of the playoff game last year to the crap with Cutler to jawing with fans he's earned his reputation as a big-mouthed idiot and there is no way you can blame ESPN for it.

Yeah, like Moss huh? funny thing is that no matter how hard ESPN was destroying Moss' character I never thought he was a bad guy. Funny? I never thought Moss walking out with 3 meezly seconds left in a game was insulting, it was frustration. I judge players by how they treat other. When Warren Sapp says "I don't flick *****" to a kid who wants a picture then that's an *******, not someone who gets excited over a game.

I do think that there is certainly something mentally wrong with TO though. You can't have that much tv time and remain sane.

Wow... Rivers is polarizing. That's amazing. His behavior is tame compare to the other stuff going on in the league. What I hate is that most people that bag on him really hasn't seen it live... just clips on TV with the announcers forming the opinion for them... then they regurgitate it. Almost verbatim. That's stupid.

I'll say this. Most folks say he can't be so ****y and talk like that because he hasn't done anything. What I say is that he's been doing it since forever and it has worked for him. In Pop Warner, High School, College, and now the NFL. The easiest way to shut him up is to beat him. So far, that hasn't happen so he's going to keep on doing what works for him. That's just natural. I think he's smarter than most of the folks out there. He comes in with his "aw shucks I'm just a country boy from Alabama" attitude and jaws at people. Nothing that has ever gotten him a penalty or fine by the team or the league, which is a lot more than what most of the players in the NFL has done. But for some reason it seems to affect his opponent (see Champ Bailey's stupid comments). It gets to them, but doesn't affect Rivers one bit. Now that's a smart player if you ask me.

This thing with his "behavior" has been blown out of proportion. Compared to say TO:

    - Rivers doesn't cuss out his coach
    - Rivers doesn't throw his team mates under the bus and call them gay
    - Rivers doesn't pull stunts like taking a Sharpie from his sock to autograph the ball after a TD pass
    - Rivers doesn't do sit ups outside his house for the cameras
    - Rivers doesn't cry on national television
    - And last, but most important, Rivers doesn't try to kill himself in the off season

Or stomp of a player's helmet-less head with his cleats, flip off the fans, kill dogs, cross over to the other team's warm up area on the field, stomp on another team's logo, or make gay Oreo cookie commercials with his brother.

Rivers' stuff is harmless, but somehow blown out of proportion. I guess whatever brings in the ratings.

Drew Brees never pulled that stuff.
Maybe that's why they shipped him out.

drew never yelled at fans, but he did throw his helmet on the ground just like rivers did last year vs kc....when sd had to bench drew back in 2003

anyway drew started the season with 1 td and 9 ints, and is currently 17-15 in his last 32 starts playing in the weak-ass nfc

and he's 9-11 in his last 20 games vs afc teams

so drew can go to hell lol, dude can't put together back to back successful (win loss) seasons to save his life.

i really care about rivers showing emotions on the field. he yapping with the fans and talking trash when he isnt even on the game is what looks -ve. who cares what he yells on the field to the ref ? its when he thinks he talks like he has won 5-6 rings which is bothersome.
