I thought a look at Newman's charity and political work would be fitting for the forum ... RIP Paul.

Paul Newman was a liberal democrat who spoke with his actions and for that he should be applauded.

Paul Newman was on the list of the top 30 Celebrity Givers ... a great list to be on.

Befoe he died ... Newman gave $120 million to charity ... all of Newman's own.
He turned over ownership so that number will go up and up and up ... a great legacy.

and because he was a liberal democrat, by default he must have been one of those "hollywood wife swappers" that a few of our incoherant posters blather on and on about, in their convenient self-rationalization...

You are amazing. To bring that in here appalls me. There is a time and place for everything, this is neither the time nor the place for such drivel. You don't understand common decency. Him being a liberal democrat does not add or detract from what he dedicated his life and legacy to. He was a great man.

Today a true leganed has passed away, he made some great movies Including one of my favorites Cool Hand Luke. Fog buster has tried to say that I admire my avitar, no I admired Cool Hand Luke. If they're was any moviee Character I could Possibly be similar to in real life its Luke. Especially when I was younger.

R.I.P. You great man, Paul Newman

    Hey Anton has Some qualities

He keeps his word the best he can,how many politicians can say that ....not to many
    He believes in determanism
    He calmly analyses the situation
He's a humble man of little words. :D
And besides I get the imprssion it bugs some people to see anton starring down at them while they read the post.
But I think I'm going to take your advice  and put a picture of Newman from the flick COOL HAND LUKE if I can find one.

And thats what I looked like in High School. Same hair cut, same denim jacket.

Give it a rest with your indignance and self-righteousness. First, I don't really care what appalls you. Your ideological allies here sully EVERY thread that's "supposed to be respected." Whether it's Ted Kennedy getting sick, or Paul Wellstone dying in an "accident," or on and on and on. I never see you, or any of you friends here, dressing down goofy Harry for crapping in those kinds of threads. Different when you guys do it, noted.

Regardless, you're really reaching badly. I'm not knocking on Blue Eyes, and that's clear to anyone who doesn't resort to extrapolation. I'm talking about the genius or two posters here who dismiss Hollywood as a whole when/as it suits them. So reprogram, and gear down.

There's nothing sacred in this forum. Harry and a few others here set that precedent long ago. Amazingly, they never "appall" you.

Cool Hand Luke is probably my favorite but his role in Slapshot gave me a few laughs ... I liked all Paul Newman movies. When i was younger and everyone was getting their hair done like John Travolta I decided to go shorter and simple. My friends would say "what's up with the hair" i would reply ... it's my paul Newman look.
