A great man and one of my heroes
He was ok, never liked how he made an effort to desensitize the american people that it was ok to kill an uninvolved guy riding his bike on the bridge with "smart" bombs..
A blow by blow description complete with 8" X 10" glossies was imo pretty piss poor...
War is hell, and his efforts to minimize it was troubling..
It was the first time I saw a victory lap over "collateral damage".. perhaps that was why there was no outcry in this great "christian nation" when we killed over 150K women and children there..
He is what he was, another general who loved face time and celebrated the death of non combatants and most of america just lapped it up..
afterall, Saddam was "massing tanks all along the Saudi border."
oops, nope. Another chickenhawk lie.
One might have thought we may be more discerning or may have learned, now 6 trillion dollars later down the shytter and 52% of our returning troops are applying for permanent disability..
The "Masters of War" thank this nation for padding their pocketbooks and their coffers..
I give the guy the nod, criticizing Donald Rumsfeld and calling Westmoreland a horse's ass in an interview during Vietnam. This guy was a leader, who looked out for his guys, risking his life to save a guy in a mine field. It was war, Darryl.
