WSVN in Miami, citing "a television station in Denver", is reporting that Dolphins running back Ricky Williams has failed another drug test.

If true, Williams faces a one year suspension from the NFL. The Denver station is describing their source as "rock solid".

The Dolphins have no comment at this time.

That's actually kind of a shame after he did OK last year. Oh well . . .

Wow, kind of too bad for him, does he get to keep the money?
So much for the Dolphins plans of a possible trade with the Vikes or anyone else for Ricky.

Curious. Didn't Ricky come back due to his quitting caused the Phins to demand repayment of the contract? I wonder what happens now? If he's not forced to repay the contract, could he have failed on purpose?

    Maybe.
Maybe he knew he was about to be traded to a team he didn't want to go to,
so he smoked his way out of it.

The NFL and society are very clear about their rules - only taxable drugs like alcohol, toboacco and those manufactured by drug companies are morally and legally acceptable.

Anything you can grow yourself without having the government tax it is strictly a no-no.

Shame on you Ricky - you were warned.

    re:

Sucks for Ricky. Sucks for Saban because he can't trade Ricky and get value anymore. But... this ends up being good for us.

I thought Saban was smart to bring Ricky back, showcase him, and (I assume) try to trade him for some picks or players in the off-season. Now that Ricky screwed it all up, it will take just a little longer for Saban to build a strong team.

Ricky's value has also plummeted, which may make him a nice cheap pickup if a team wants him.

    Dolphins Draft

Does this mean the Dolphins will be looking to pick up another back in the draft? Of course mock drafts are meaningless, but this just screwed a lot of them up!

Look at this: as of 9:44 Pacific, 43 pages worth of posts on a Dolphins message board. You'd think it was Dan Marino in his prime.

One of the reports this AM states that he may not have been "dirty", but may have missed a drug test, either way too bad really liked him on the playing field even though he played for the Dolphins.

And missing a mandatory drug test is considered a failure by the NFL and CBA. Why am I not shocked?? It's too bad for Ricky and the 'Fins but as a Pats fan,
    it's not too bad.....

    Ricky you idiot haha.

I hope this isn't true.It probably is ,but until I hear from the Fins or the NFL its only a rumour.I'm a big fan of Ricky(football ricky, not weed ricky). He was really starting to get back into his groove, which would have sucked for us,but nice to see at the same time.

I just got to thinking about this. Why does the NFL care if their players smoke weed? I mean is anyone going to sit here and try to convince me that weed is a performance enhancing drug?

That's an interesting point. Marijuana is really no big deal. But if the NFL wants to keep it "banned," players should only be required to undergo testing during the season.
