I have to say that while I do understand the general concerns the administration had, I don't think they applied in this particular case. I'm glad Texas stuck to its guns and executed this vile human being.

Someone better bless Rick Perry, he needs it...

In Bachman's world he may be considered a "Barbarian", as he appears to have a Charlie Crist problem...

    But he wears Cowboy Boots...

...but darryl agrees with the execution.

It would be nice to see you actually comment on the thread topic for once and not just pick & choose this party-line condescending bs...but that would be too much to ask.

The guy got what he deserved and the world is a better place for it.

A good example of why socialist left wing communist dictators hate us, a Governor gives the President "the finger" and is widely admired for it, unheard of in the lands of Castro & Chavez.

This President (dick obama) would love to be a dictator but Gov Perry just gave him a lesson in "Reality"

Yeah, you're right...but it may be a hollow finger-waving victory when little American hotties like this one [IMG] are beheaded, shot at sunrise or given the electric chair without ever getting the opportunity to speak to the American Consulate in some foreign country because that foreign country they are unfortunately enough to have been arrested in has now been given the green light, curtesy of Governor Perry and the Supreme Court, to deny people any sort of international rights.

The concerns being raised about this execution were not solely limited to the Obama WH.

In fact, there's a pretty broad concern that this could jeopardize American citizens overseas and negatively affect US relations with other countries.

But as we all know, Rick Perry is a grandstanding hypocritical douche so the outcome of this incident was never really in question.

International rights? Really? When you illegally live in a country, and then rape, murder, and bloody an underage teen, you deal with the laws of the land where which you committed your crime. If this person was somehow not given a fair trial, or there was some sort of question with respect to the guilt of the perpetrator, then I'd agree. That's not the case here. This person was guitly as his own brother, and his own actions deemed so.

Once again the sick liberal bastards who are the biggest fans of baby murdering abortions, want to spare the life of a brutal murderer. First Sadaam, than countless others and now this guy.

    Hyperbole much?

Because life in prison is such a hoorrrrrible miscarriage of justice.

And as I noted earlier, liberals were hardly the sole provenance of concern about this execution. Try educating yourself next time before you go spouting off half ****ed.

If the guy was guilty, he should be executed...that's pretty simple, isn't it?

And if he is in the US ILLEGALLY, then he shouldn't be covered by any "International" rights. Everything that happened to him...including his execution, was his own fault. Wouldn't you agree?

If the "Hottie" girl was in a country LEGALLY, then she should be covered by international rights.

See, it's all really simple Jack.

No. The whole notion of the death penalty (which I happen to oppose) itself isn't simple.

If the concerns surrounding his execution are legitimate, and I have no reason to believe they aren't, then a simple cost/benefit analysis would determine that there is more to be gained from simply letting him rot in a cell rather than putting him to death.

Personally, I like the death penalty for fist degree murder Jack. I prefer that to using our tax dollars to pay for 20-50 years of incarceration.

Let's not make exceptions because the guy was an illegal alien! To me, that's all the more reason he should have been executed.

The guy was an illegal alien? Link?

You're aware that capital punishment costs more than lifetime incarceration, aren't you? By virtue of your comment here, it seems that you may be misinformed.

Yeah, because we keep them locked up too long. They should just be executed the next day.

Might I suggest relocating to Yemen or Saudi Arabia. I think their judicial philosophy more closely comports with your views on the topic than our own.

You wanted this animal's life to be spared, correct? And you are pro-abortion, correct? It's not hyperbole, it's the truth.

Half-cocked, huh. Stop talking with your mouth full.

    :ugh:

Leal, an illegal alien who moved to the U.S. as a young child...

By design Jack. It's put together that way in part so that the costs give your argument credence. Why execute people if it costs more in legal bills (that puts $$ in lawyers pockets and increases the role of government), than it does to incarcerate them for life (more jobs for the gubmit). It's all by design for the most part.

It has nothing to do with what I want. It has to do with what is perceived to be in the national interest of the United States. You'd be hard pressed to make the case that the country derives a greater benefit from his death than from a commuted sentence.

    I am not pro-abortion; I am pro-choice.

And yeah, I had a hard time taking you seriously with that first post. Try taking a valium, reading up a bit about the story, and attempting to post coherently.

    Thanks.

The story I read simply said that his parents relocated him to Texas as a child. Didn't mention his immigration status. Regardless, I don't see how it's particularly relevant (actually, it is apropos with respect to the international concerns regarding his execution).

It's put together this way in order to prevent innocent people from being executed.

The strain in the system results, largely, from the obscene number of incarcerated persons we have in this country.

The "world perception" argument is vastly overrated. The man was tried and convicted. Legal teams tried every trick in the book to change the sentence and it didn't work. He was given more than his fair share of lawful defense.

Can't do the time, don't do the crime.

    And don't mess with Texas.
