    Cape Cod Windmills:
These are Phony Left Wing "Oil Haters" at work, they slobber and whail about Global Warming, they want you to Ride A Bike, they tell you how much toilet paper to use, they Despise Oil so now they have chance to support "Clean Energy" and the dirty Rich Phony Bastards shoot it down because it is their own back yard.
The Fat Waddling Drunk (Uncle Teddy) was the leader of this group of phony's but it seems they are survivng without him, Teddy didn't want them because he was afraid he'd get drunk and Ram one of them in his sailboat.

I could give two sh1ts about your little local wind project/"conservation" battle. I've read you guys whining about it before, something about spoiling the view or the yachting blah blah blah.

The larger point is that we're looking at the possibility of replacing 20% of the power on the grid with wind by 2020.

Oil-loving gushing fawning modifier modifier blah blah blah petroconservatives don't want to do it.

Are you that silly, Harry? Do you actually prefer that we emphasize fossil fuels to the exclusion of renewables?

I know you're much more interested in finding a "bad guy liberal" so you can point at him and chuckle into your oatmeal.

My question is where the hell you stand on the issue.

SHOULD we be building the windmills? I think we should... I also think the pissant project you're pointing to is the least of our concerns. Mass doesn't want the industry, Texas does, trust me on that. It would be a drag if Texas built the new energy industry and went independent though LOL

Wow. Just thought of a good economic reason to stop them from seceding.

Well if it was going to be built in Brockton I'm sure it would be up by now.

Save the world but not in my backyard ... the phony limo liberals win again.

I like windmills, they should have been put up down there years ago, The Town Drunk Uncle Teddy and his goofy pal over on Nantucket (john fonda kerry) had a great deal to do with preventing it, windmills are great they should go up everywhere, GOD BLESS WINDMILLS.

Dig our own oil, leave my "freedoms" alone, Al Gore owns 3 SUV's he used them to lug his ski's around on, Prince Obama pollutes the sky sending his wife to NYC on a Jet to see a Broadway Play, the Stuttering Kennedy (bobby's kid) pollutes the sky's in his private jet flying from one end of the country to the other babbling his "clean sh!t" to left wing college loons who throw pies at Ann Coulter (free speech)

The People Are Rising They Will Take Just So Much Of Barack Hussein Obama's Socialist Sh!t.

There is Oil in Alaska, there is Oil off our coast's, there is Oil under the ground in our western states, GET IT, thats how to get rid of Muslim Oil.

My God, if Obama's rules drive Al Gore's SUVs off the road, his head will explode like the robot on Star Trek when Spock says "I am lying."

Aye, and there's the rub, isn't it, Harry?

Interesting point of view from a guy who doesn't much care how poorer people than he are affected by health care costs or anything else - but let someone richer get to keep something you might lose and all of a sudden you're

That's the thing about life style and wealth, Harry, it's all subject to change for each of us - your own inability to see this in regards to those poorer than you comes home to roost when the shoe is on the other foot and you're the one who might lose his "right" to keep his SUV.

Buck up, Harry. You can keep the SUV - just do like you tell Auntie Zucchini or all those people who don't have health care because they can't afford it - GET A JOB. GET OFF YOUR LAZY SOCIAL SECURITY MEDICARE GOVERNMENT COLLECTING ***** AND FIND A DAM JOB. NUTTIN IS FREE - YOU WANT GAS IN YOUR GUZZLER, YOU WHINING BASTAD, GO EARN IT LIKE AL GORE DOES.

You sure can twist, you managed to turn a statement about a Socialist President taking peoples freedom away and a Dig About The Phoney Bellowing Boob Al Gore condeming machines for their pollution while he himself uses them, you managed to take that and spin it into some babbling dribble about "poor people" and the Presidents Illegal Alien Relative...
I TIP MY HAT YOU ARE A MASTER OF "THE TWIST"

The problem here, Harry, is that you don't think one moment beyond whatever diarrhea you fling at the wall at any given moment.

Words mean something, so it gets tricky. When you group them together, they create meaning. Unless you are careful, they create meaning that extends beyond a point that could be pondered by, say, a Saint Bernard, or a bright budgie.

When this happens, it does not constitute somebody else "twisting" or "spinning". It constitutes the problem you've built into your ill-conceived statement from the start. You have a little problem called self-contradiction, or, as we prefer to call it around here, hypocrisy.

I believe the forum's called political discussion, Harry, not "random nutjob statements of the emotionally disturbed." Although the two share common features in all instances, it's hardly a good defense of your own half-baked understanding to accuse those who understand more of "spinning."

    You are what you are.

    I have nothing against Windmills.
    Nothing wrong with clean energy.

I suggest a Sin tax for people who can afford to pay the sin tax.

The politicians love to tax Joe & Betty Six Pack.
The sin tax on Alcohol and Tobacco is getting out of control.
I don't drink or smoke, so it does not affect me.

Let's tax the people who can afford to pay !
Put a $5 a gallon sin tax on jet fuel for private jets.

What do you think the left leaning Prius driving celebs would think of that idea?

    Works for me.

Ya know, the thing about the celebrities was interesting, it really was. I wonder, though, how many ordinary people are out there who do drive a Prius, or who drive very little and rely on public transportation, not because they have to, but because they think it's the right thing to do?

Or how many people don't fly at all - much less do it in private jets - because they've decided to vacation nearer to home because they think it's the right thing to do? Or the one's who've traded in their SUV or their mini-van or their F10 pickup in favor of a smaller, more economical and enviournmentally friendly vehicle?

There's almost never any articles about them - or the people who've quietly quit drinking bottled water or using the old light bulbs or doing whatever it is they're doing in order to help preserve that which still exists.

Lots of talk and articles about the rich hypocrites - mostly used as fodder by people who want to be doing the same things they're doing - which is whatever the hell they want and are using it to justify their outrage at not being able to do the same things without condemnation - but very little about Jessica and Jeremy Average who've quietly decided that there are things they can live without in order to assure those things last longer and cause less harm.

I wonder what there are more of? The Jessica and Jeremy's who sold their minivan or the Harry's of the world who want to keep driving their SUV come hell or high water?

    What failed?

I figured you would support a tax against the rich.
Unless the rich happen to bel the left.

Probably because they're always yelling and screaming about pollution and giving Oscars to people like Gore/Michale Moore for spewing their sh!t, they used to be pretty big on the wars and gitmo but their silent on that stuff now, their Pretty Prince Jug Ears Obama the Poster Boy is running the wars now and they don't want to hurt his feelings.

    Bush War---Bad War
    Obama War---Good War
    Bush Gitmo--Bad Bad Gitmo

There was already a group of people who were voluntarily putting up with being poorer than they otherwise would, by paying "more for less" and being early adopters of cleaner technology.

On this board, they're lampooned as "rich liberals" who could afford to do so.

Recently, however, the trade-in became a mass phenomenon, as the government sponsored "cash for clunkers."

Now I'm certain one of our local cretins will pipe up what he heard on Fox one night, "Most of the cars they sold were SUVs!!!!!"

Whatever they were, they were higher fuel economy than the "clunker" traded in. So if you're a Pig-whore driving a tank to do the grocery shopping prior to sitting down to a dinner of the last breeding pair of a rare bird or something, and you trade in your tank on an SUV, guess what? The environment is still better off. If you trade in your SUV on a mid-size car, so much the better, or if you trade in your mid-size for a prius or (coming soon) an all-electric, that much better.

Regardless: such trade-ins incentivize people to do what only a few will do when artificially cheap petrochemicals are the fuel of choice.

We're at a tipping point in terms of consumer affordability, however. And as more people adopt newer technology, there is no way that awareness will not seep out into the general public.

Add to that the fact that you can now derive deisel made of algae for the same cost as plain old deisel made of decomposed dinosaurs, and you're looking at the next phase in transportation technology. Batteries are now sufficient to run your electric long enough to handle most drivers' needs, and even if you need to run on liquid fuel, there is no longer any technological reason to solely use oil-based fuels.

Of course, in terms of the electrics, you really do want your electricity coming from wind rather than coal - and regrettably for a period, nuclear. You can't take all the coal off-line at one time.

Yes, a revolution in transportation as we know it. And what's the important part?

    "I heard a celebrity takes a jet!!!"
