Jim Rice had 72.2 percent of the vote, just short of the 75 percent needed for enshrinement. He will get in next year.

this was his best chance, next year will be tough but it is his last year to try.

It's an absolute travesty that Jim Rice hasn't made the HOF and Tony Perez has. Rice was one of the best players of his era. The Hall needs to figure out what it takes to gain entry. Either it's longevity, or it's dominance. They're penalizing Rice for not playing 1 more crap year. Had he had a 15 homer stinker he'd be in. That's so stupid.

Also, it's because sports writers (like the rest of the media) are absolute babies and d0uchebags. Rice wasn't one for often talking to the sports writers or giving them what they want, so they're holding a grudge. Scum.

That's certainly part of it. Rice was an a-hole. I think they've made him wait long enough now.
