Revis is being respectful, he's just upset he feels like he isnt getting the credit he deserves.

Either way it wont matter what anyone says come Sunday. We'll see what happens then.

There's so many differences from Week 2 until now... (Jenkins gone, Welker back, Brady more comfortable and better chemistry with Moss again, etc)

Revis is a top 3 corner, still think every corner gets over the top help from a safety more often then not. Hopefullly Moss has a good game..

Hard to believe, but here's a great write-up on PFT on the subject. Moss was favoured by the coverage almost constantly.

Definitely read the whole thing, pretty good get by the PFT crew.

Find it hard to believe that people have so much time on their hands that they can make a nontroversy into a controversy...

The scout's analysis of Brady, and the offense as a whole, was interesting, in that it deals with some issues that were hotly contested on the board at the time:

Re: Revis rants over Moss double team talk [merged]

Lets not forget that Welker wasn't playing in week 2 so jets game plan changed by keying on Moss. Now we'll see. Watch for Moss to have different formations and lining up next to Welker. As for Bart he look at Sunday nite's film to see Moss sprinting across middle in stride of a deep Brady pass.

Re: Jets' DC says that Revis had help

Pettine, ha, the token DC of the Jets. Rex calls all the plays, etc, Pettine is just a name.

However, I agree with him. I'm one of the few Jet fans who thinks Revis is a tad over-rated, and it was easy to see that Rhodes was helping him out at least 75% of the game.

Re: Jets' DC says that Revis had help covering Moss

Revis definitely had help over the top, but so do other corners against Moss and they don't have the same success so I don't understand the big deal....nobody can cover Moss 1 on 1 and Revis is a top corner..simple as that

If nobody can cover Moss 1-on-1, perhaps Revis should just shut up. :confused2:

Re: Revis rants over Moss double team talk [mergedx2]

I think that Revis is the best corner in the NFL. That said, no one can matchup against Moss one on one. He is that good of a SE. Without Welker lined up next to him, the defense was free to rotate safety help over the top to assist Revis. When you have the best Y and the best Z in the world lined up next to eachother, it is a pick your poison situation. If you roll the safety down to assist on the Y, obviously the Z is opened up, and vice versa.

This coverage is not effective in the colloquial sense when it comes to defending Moss. While he has lost a step or two since his prime, where he stands out from the crowd is his veteran skills. He reaches for the ball at the last second, baits corners with his stride length, and can compete for any football, regardless of how poorly it is thrown. The safety must be around the ball when it comes to the reciever in addition to the corner in order to defend Moss effectively. One guy needs to play the body, one guy needs to play the ball. If not, it's a caught ball 80% of the time. It's not a traditional bracket of the coverage dictating that the QB checks off, but one that can break up a pass with each defender taking a different responsibility. That is what causes the checkdown. With Welker back in the lineup, it should be interesting to see how Rex chooses to die on sunday.

I can say this, we weren't in a lot of true cover zero [man-on-man] with no help. (jets dc)
