He's a better leader and has obviously more experience, but other than that he's really not any good anymore. People just see the name and accolades and assume he's still good. I'd rather see Gregory. At least Gregory isn't slow as molasses.
Need to get someone to play next to Wilfork before you can say that. One of the most overlooked things about the D I thought.
Ok, I follow you.
Jones on one side with Ninko and Abraham on the other would be sweet!!
John Abraham is as old as the pyramids.
I don't want Wilson, but I'm perfectly okay with giving him a chance at low money. Plus, anything that makes PatsFans more tolerable is fine with me.
I definitely want Abraham. A lot.
I'd like to see Jones at LEFT DE. I think his skills will be even better used against RTs and he is stout enough as a run defender.
Abraham on the right side. Ninkovich and Francis can spell him situationally, so he is fresh.
Wilfork and Armstead inside. With Cunningham coming in on passing downs for VW.
Our pass rush is heavily improved because:
1) We have better individual pass rushers on the field
2) With those better skilled rushers we can blitz more and not risk not getting there. We have 3, 4 if you include Nink LBs who can effectively blitz.
3) Adrian Wilson as a sub S/LB in the Rodney mold enhancing the blitz, and we are starting to talk about a fierce pass rush.
This assumes Armstead can bring it up the middle, or we find someone else to complete the puzzle.
Add a corner and this D is really coming together.
Based on last season, Adrian Wilson is a two-down, run-specialist SS. The Cards took him out of their subpackages because he was a liability. If that's what the Pats would be getting, then I don't want him. The Pats don't need another safety that can't cover. Why would you NOT want a safety? what's the alternative? either draft or use what you have on the time now, which is garbage.
I think it's the Arizona defense they were playing in general. Ray Horton's D wants just speed in their DBs. Belichick's coverage schemes emphasize more on communication and positioning in the secondary, especially for the safetys. That's why a smart and instinctual vet like Wilson would be a great fit here.Don't like the recent reports of Wilson's pass coverage. But there is no arguing at one time he had some of the best instincts at the position. Is it an age thing or just the Arizona defense they were playing in general? I think I'm down on the cheap though. Could be a good BB signing.

If they anticipate being able to get more than that out of him, then that'd be great.
The alternative is Tavon Wilson. Rookie mistakes in coverage are a lot easier to recover from than mistakes in coverage caused by being old.
