Braylon Edwards signs a one-year deal with San Francisco 49ers - The Early Lead - The Washington Post

After failing to land Chad Ochocinco and Plaxico Burress, the San Francisco 49ers picked up the top remaining free agent, signing wide receiver Braylon Edwards to a one-year contract that reportedly is worth $3.5 million.

In Edwards, who is 6-foot-3, 214 pounds, the Niners get a big-body receiver who will start with Michael Crabtree. Although the prospect of two top-10 draft picks starting in Jim Harbaugh’s offense is intriguing, they won't be together immediately. Crabtree is expected to miss training camp with a foot injury.

Good for him, the 49ers are on the right track, they just need a QB. a normal one.

3.5 mill? How? His agent must suck. Plaxico hasn't played since 2008 and is 34 years old and got 3 mill...

They'll probably get Andrew Luck in the 2012 draft somehow.

Should be interesting to see how Harbaugh coaches up Alex Smith.
