Report: Jets hold serious talks about Favre

Re: Report:Jets hold serious talks about Favre

How did Brady do in the Super Bowl when just one of his interior linemen was replaced by a lesser player? Favre had both guards replaced, had major change at wideout, and had his running back become Samkon Gado.

Why is it that people here can't just accept that other players in the league are good, even if they aren't on the Patriots?

That's just a fallacy. Everyone else in the league not in a Patriots uniform sucks.

Re: Report:Jets hold serious talks about Favre

He also is not good against good teams as evidenced by his playoff performance which might be the worst of any QB this decade.

Um...facts do not support that claim. He played well, not great. He got his team to the NFC Championship and was beat by the same team that beat our New England Patriots.

By the way, check out E. Mannings stats - yeesh.

It wasn't one of the worst performances in playoff history but it wasn't worthy of a "legend" by any stretch of the imagination.

The two best defenses he played against last year, the Giants and especially the Cowboys, made him look silly.

They certainly do. 16 interceptions in 8 games. 5 poor games in 8 (Rams 02, Falcons 03, Philly 04, Min 05, NYG 08). 4 playoff games in which he threw away the season away (Rams 02 6 picks, Philly 04 - embarassing late int leading to loss, Min 05 - 5 picks, NYG 08 - embarassing OT int leading to loss)

You want to say he hasn't been the worst, it is a debatable point. Only said he might be and there is plenty of evidence to support he is.

Re: Report:Jets hold serious talks about Favre

Every QB has basic necessities to win in this league including: a good o-line, a solid RB, and a WR or two.
Brady won in 2001 and his Oline included OG Andruzzi, a street free agent who was not good enough to make any team's opening roster, a rookie LT, a center who couldn't shotgun snap, and vet minimum unwanted OG Compton who was cut bya bad JAX team, and the imortal Robinson-Randall and Grant Williams at RT.

Oh, an Pokey Smith at RB and WRs? Troy Brown as a number friggin'ONE? And two guys cut by the Arena league as Numbers 2 and 3.

Sorry, spin it any way you want, but the facts are that since 2000, when Green Bay was good, Favre did nothing. And though you deny it, Green Bay had an excellent team last year. They would have won except for crappy play by your boy.

You insult the jets O but their offense has two receivers capable of 1,100+ yards, a good RB duo, and a solid o-line. That does not include a first round TE with great ability in the passing game to create mismatch issues.
 The mismatch issues are between NoodleArmA/NoodleArmB and their receivers.

Are you a closet Jet fan?

Is that why you are building up Favre the way Doofin fans built up Culpepper when he signed (and before he played, obviously).

Jets O sucks and their D isn't much better, and Favre is well aware of this fact. That is why he won't go to the New Jersery Jets. He wants the perfect team around him, and if it can't be GB, then it has to be the Vikings.

Thats why a) Brady is the greatest QB of all time and B) the Pats won with a primarily defensive themed team that year. Ty Law and co. were the real MVP's of SB 36

your right an offense of gado, bubba franks, ruviel martin, driver and koren robinson+ 2 rookie guards is phenomenal. How can I deny that. Since 2000 doing nothing =
2000 20 td 16 int
2001 32 td 15 int
2002 27 td 16 int
2003 32 td 21 int
2004 29 td 20 int
2 down yr 20 td 29 int followed by 18 n 18
2007 28 td 15 int

 The mismatch issues are between NoodleArmA/NoodleArmB and their receivers.

The Vikes offense is perfect, that offense is stacked with Bernard Berrian and Sidney Rice. I put this challenge to anyone on this board. Lineup this years Jets offense with last years Packers offense and comeback and tell me where the huge gap is. They have a better 3rd WR and TE and thats it.

Manning Peyton is great; Manning Eli got hot when he was supposed to and played clutch. Trent Edwards is good. Palmer is great. Rothliesberger is great. Garrard is good. Rivers is okay and gutsy as hell. Cutler is good. Schaub is okay. Anderson is very good. Jackson is good. So is Campbell. Garcia is great. Delhomme is very good. Brees is great. Lineart is good. McNabb is very good. Romo is very good, and so is Hasselbeck and Young.

Without going through the entire league, I'll man up and say all these QBs are not only good, but some are either very good or great.

Now you man up and admit that Favre sucks. And he sucks even if I think that Grossman and Losman and Simms and Smith and others stink. The two simply aren't related.
