Once again, my bud who is a professional trader tells me that every time the SP500 gets ready to go below 800, the trading is "slowed down" and a "mystery buyer" steps in and buys 3 million share of SPY (SP500 etf). Hmm, I wonder who that could be? One must ask the question, how does the SP500 hold 800 support, when GE, for example, just hit a 52 week low today? The fix is in. Buyer beware.

Its in the interest of the individuals who are heavily invested in our debt to cause inflation.

    think about it like this:

you owe me a Million dollars with interest.

    you control your own currency.

you decrease the value of your currency.

a million dollars is now worth 500k

    you pay me back.

you just made my loan worth less, and your payment half.

    watch for HEAVY inflation....

The US plunge protection team is BANKRUPTING the entire country.

Flooding the world with printed dollars, hidden to the common average joe until a year or two from now when inflation explodes and we all wonder what happened

to me, thats what is most sad about what is happening and about to happen.

The average red-blooded american, who has been crying red white and blue tears, working hard, supporting the trooos etc....will be the big losers in this collapse. WE earn and spend dollars. Inflation will help to eleviate debt, at the expense ....YET AGAIN..of the ameriacn poeple.

Buy GOLDEN yen if you can get your greasy mitts on 'em....

    enjoy the amero!

There is NO point to saving at this time. Any of your savings or assets are getting massively devalued every single day just by living in America. Sure it may cut our trillions in debt to the Chinese/Japanese in half, but you are also reducing the value of your US currency, assets, and savings.

It's called the market is being artificially held above the magic 800 number. In other words, our supposed free market capitalistic system is being manipulated. The indexes can easily be fixed to stay above certain numerical levels. Does that mean the componets making them up are worth it? Um, no.

It also means our currency is being massively devalued every day in order to keep making money out of thin air to temporarily prop up our house of cards financial system.

Doesn't the government get the prime rate, which is like 1/16th of a percent or some other outrageously low figure? If so isn't a rate that low kinda like borrowing from your parents?

Its not like we're borrowing from Tony Soprano at two points a week.

When you flood the market, secretly, with what may amount to 10Trillion within half a year... what do you think happens to the value of each unit of that currency?

Why don't you send an email to the SEC and tell them you know everything the gov't is doing to manipulate the stock market and you're going to the press with it?

If I knew all the stuff you know Mossed, I'd do exactly that. C'mon man, go for it!

    Just a thought....

Well, that's capitalism for you. There are vested interests, including 401k holders, who want to see the market sustained. It's no secret that capitalists through the decades have sustained the market out of their own self-interest. I do see that over the longer term it appears to roughly parallel the market. It's lost about half it's value. That said, what I'm wondering is what exactly kind of fund SPY is? I don't quite understand what it does. Is that the issue, or is the issue that someone decides to shore it up?

Patters, quit talking out of your ass and talking down capitalism when you know nothing. Jeez. SPY is Spiders, a term for the S&P500.

You seem to be oversensitive when it comes to the stock market. Relax things will turn around. Obama is president!

So, it's merely one of many S&P 500 index funds. Good for you for knowing that particular one! I don't invest in index funds, but looking at the decline of SPY from 140 to 85, I can certainly understand why you're so tense. (And I said nothing that talks down capitalism. It's a flawed system, but it's still the one that seems to work best.)

I'm not overly sensitive and I'm not tense - I'm doing alright with my money just not as well as I had, like everyone - the fact that we have Dumbo as President who wants to spend $1T after two weeks is another issue entirely.
