Sounds more like this press snuck in.

The speech marked Palin’s re-emergence on the national scene. The Journal Sentinel purchased a ticket to cover Palin’s speech.

Security was tight at the Wisconsin Exposition Center. Spectators were told beforehand that prohibited items included cell phones, recording devices, video and still cameras, as well as strollers and car seats. A line stretched across the length of the facility and out to a parking lot as spectators waited patiently to pass through security.

Hopefully the money they spent on the ticket will go to protect unborn children. Good job Sarah!

Sarah's under contract with the Washington Speakers Bureau, and their asking price is $100,000.00 per Palin appearance.

I think the money's more likely going to protect Sarah.

Good for her, she sets a great example most Downs syndrome babies are aborted, she teaches a great lesson about the importance of life, she walks the talk.

"Spectators were told beforehand that prohibited items included cell phones, recording devices, video and still cameras."

We actually don't know if reporters were allowed in. What we do know is that info was reported from the event, and that could be because participants reported or reporters went in anyway.

At any rate, she's pro-fetus, not pro-children. Pro-children would support health care for kids, good daycare, better schools, and so on, but most Republicans prefer to put their money into needless war. Democrats, at least liberals, want to put the money into helping the American people.

Artificial distinction between so called fetus and child. Reminds one of monks arguing over the number of angels who can fit on the head of a pin.

She does support policies that support strong families that are the best way to put children in a healthy environment, where they can thrive. Of course the vast amounts of money that have poured into education supports the NEA not education, education in this country has deteriorated and the feds have poured money into education.

More money for failed liberal programs are not supporting children it is hurting, especially when combined with the devaluing of life created by abortion that dehumanizes children.

All the feds have done with 94-142 and the more recent NCLB legislation, is encumber the states with many regulations and requirements, and there has not been appropriate funding... it does not have all that much to do with the NEA, as much as it does with federal requirements...

IF there was a serious effort to level the playing field, then the Dept of Ed would be eliminated, and return the authority to the States....

Absolutely, the unfunded mandates are killing the states. One concern that many people have with healthcare form is the expansion of Medicaid as a means of covering more of the population with the brunt of the costs shifted to the states further burdening them, and in this case disproportionally so on the poorer states. (sorry to go OT but it dovetailed with your comment)

The dems would never give up the dept of ed, the nea is a source of funding for the dems and the dept of ed is patronage for their supporters. Just as there were no mention of tort reform in the healthcare bill. They aren't going to hurt the trial lawyers who are huge contributors to the dems.

This is about power not education.

Why won't she just go away? I mean is she a celebrity now?

So let me get this right, your government telling you what you can and can't do with your own body is ok but its not ok for the government to tell you to get health insurance?

You righty's are walking a very thin line here............LOOK IN THE MIRROR FOR ONCE.

The trial lawyer is all bull****, tort reform is a state issue..imagine if Obama or Congress even suggested that, there would be such a shystorm from Herr Rush and Herr Glenn as they are messing in states rights..

The Dept of Ed does not have to exist, it is just a bloated aspect of this bureaucracy.. the NEA is not dependent on the Dept of Ed, there are no union employees there.. NEA represents the rank and file, not the bureaucrats..

She probably would be forced to go away if the Left Wing Democrats didn't go insane every time they hear her name, the people that hate her are the people keeping her on the front page, if the women steps outside of her house and says "oh my what a nice day" the Obama News Channel (MSNBC) will be trashing her for six months. THEY ARE OBSESSED WITH HER SO THEY MUST SEE A THREAT SOMEWHERE.

This part just tickles me. "Disturbing trend," indeed..

In addition to the suggestion that government officials would consider hastening the death of the infirm or handicapped, she began her remarks with a puzzling commentary on the design of newly minted dollar coins.

Noting that there had been a lot of “change” of late, Palin recalled a recent conversation with a friend about how the phrase “In God We Trust” had been moved to the edge of the new coins.

“Who calls a shot like that?” she demanded. “Who makes a decision like that?”

She added: “It’s a disturbing trend.”

Unsaid but implied was that the new Democratic White House was behind such a move to secularize the nation’s currency.

But the new coins – concerns over which apparently stemmed from an email chain letter widely circulated among conservatives – were commissioned by the Republican-led Congress in 2005 and approved by President Bush.

FYI the presidential dollars program began under the GWB administration...

It was enacted into law in 2005 and began circulating them in 2007.. the bill was introduced by John Sununu(R-NH) and co-sponsored by 71 others...
