Two weeks after the election, he resigns. Nice cost to the taxpayers who will foot a special election. He resided over South Chicago, it's not likely that it will go Republican. So why wait till the election is over?

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. submits resignation

The ethics stuff probably caught up to him, coupled with his rumored depression or manic/depression it all is a bytch.. probably a very good move for him and his family.

    Wish him well...

The Dems could run a tree stump in that District and win that seat and it looks like the tree stump just resigned. :singing:

I think he probably started out in politics as wanting to do the right thing. I remember 60 Minutes doing a segment on him saying he was so different from his dad. Like all politicians starting out wanting to do the right thing, they either get fed up with being the Lone Ranger without power, or they start validating their unethical ways. Happens to politicians on both sides of the aisle.

He was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder and is probably more of a crook than we'll ever know. He needs to get on meds and go to jail.

The Apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

I guess the money he was making from his conned Budwieser deal and his overblown congressional salary wasn't enough for this greedy bastard.

I agree after he wiped MLK's blood on his sweater after he was shot, he did the double flush in my mind...

MLK created power with the people for the people.

Jackson created power with the people for himself.
