Homer post, but I don't give a ****. It's remarkable that despite all of the stuff that happened this offseason, the offensive departures, Tebow drama, breaking in rookies all over the place and injuries arguably our top 2 or 3 skill position players we are currently 4-0 atop the AFC East.

Gotta give so much credit to this coaching staff.

The team needs to weather the storm for maybe 1 more week and then gronk and Danny come back. That alone will be immense. Hopefully Dobson and Boyce come back also because both looked good last night. Dobson seems to be a 3rd down guy when he was playing. We might see more spikes now to help out with Vince's run stopping ability.

Yup.... and credit is due for moves that were good ones, too (Talib being the most obvious example after last night).

The only Tebow drama was on this board.

Then you, evidently, do not own a television or radio or newspaper subscription.

Holy cow!!! We must be your only portal to the outside world!!!!!

This Tom Brady/Bill Belichick patriots team may be the best team in the history of sports. Seriously, not matter what happens they just keep going and keep contending. No, they don't win it all every year, because its just hard to win a super bowl. But every single year, not matter what happens they are right there.

This day and age with FA, and all the turnaround, its just crazy how they keep going.

The Pats are 4-0 with arguably Brady three best weapons on offense not even playing except for two of them in week #1. The loss of Wilfork will hurt, but not as much as the return of Gronk, Amendola, and Vereen will help the offense. Of course that is if all three can stay healthy.

Interest in whether Tebow would make the team because he is a popular celebrity is not drama.

It needs to be cemented with one or 2 more rings.
If they win the SB this season without Vince, it will be BB and Brady plus 52 different players since they won the first 3. That is legendary.

...and accept that the ones you are calling bad may not be.

Andy, you crack me up. Not that the subject is of any real interest, but Do YOU even know what you wrote there?

Would you call the Tebow discussion "comedy" or "romance" or "sci-fi"?

Personally, I think it was closer to "porn" :D

Before the season, what odds would you have given the Patriots vs. Atlanta if you knew that Wilfork, Gronkowski, Amendola & Vereen would all be out?

4-0 is amazingly awesome.

What?
Tebow had no impact on the football team.

I'm talking about 'drama' in the vein of distraction, or something that the people involved need to deal with.

That was incorrect.

Thank goodness, there was no Tebow drama on the team.

Maybe you think there are only two realms in this world - - The Patriots and Patsfans.com. I've been told there are others. :D

I see your point when taking the poster's post literally. However, I took the poster's post to mean "Tebow being on the team and the circus surrounding it did not cause a team distraction whatsoever, All distraction was external to the Patriot organization". If that is what the poster meant then it is correct, IMHO.

I don't know how old you are, but for a Boston sports fan to put this time above the 1956-69 Boston Celtics is amazing. I love the Patriots, and yes this team is incredible. Have been a fan since the team was formed in 1960 and this is indeed the best era we have ever seen and likely will see. And no doubt the best in the NFL considering the whole body of work over the past 12 seasons.

BUT the Celtics won 11 championships in 13 years. Stop and think about that and let it sink in. 11 championships - almost twice as many as Michael Jordan's bulls, more than half the team's overall total of 18, were won in just 13 years. And 8 of those were in a row. From 1959 through 1966, the Celtics won 8 championships in a row. These Patriots are great, and they are doing it in an era of salary caps and free agency which somewhat changes the equation, but they still aren't the best team in the history of sports. No way, no how.

10 of the 16 posts so far discussing Tebow. The good old days.

Not to take anything away from that great Celtics run, but there were 9 teams in the league in the mid-60's, and little to no free agency. I was on the first National Dekhockey Championship Cadet team! There were four other cities, maybe five, competing for the title.

So it's hard to compare, really.

It's like the Pittsburgh Steelers run in the 70's - they won the fourth ring with pretty much the same team as with the first ring. And the 49'ers had a payroll tens of millions above the rest of the competition.

It's a different era, and what the Pats have accomplished in the last dozen years is simply amazing, imo. They are always drafting near the bottom of the pile, and the league is designed for parity, forcing them to play the previous year's division winners year after year.

And they just win.

I'll grant you American sports but you may want to check out Sir Alex Ferguson's track record as manager at Manchester United. 13 league titles in 27 years and 26 trophies in total. He's also arguably the most similar to Bill Belichick as a coach that there is: belligerent to the media, a tactical genius and outstanding motivator that doesn't just sign the best players about for silly money but tries to find the best fits for his team.
