I assume the difference between "street FA" and "UFA" is that the former group was cut loose by their team and the latter group just played out their contract which expired?

Correct...

What's the word on Donovan Darius these days?

I am surprised that Victor Hobson hasn't even gotten some interest by anyone. He didn't have a great season this past season, but who did on the jets' defense. But he did have 100 tackles, 6 sacks, and an INT in 2006. At the very least, I figured he would be a good rotation guy for our defense.

prob asking for too much...

I wondered the same thing.

I didn't think that he was all that bad really...

Thanks for this terrific list, Pats1. It's always of great help to see the names of those who remain available.

Hey, I have an idea. Since you're, like, one of the mods and stuff, could you pretty please Sticky this thread, so that we could keep track whenever a player is added (released) or deleted (signed)?

I have neither the technical savvy nor the motivation; but if I did, I would create a thread for each of the position groups and the FAs therein.

I have neither the technical savvy nor the motivation; but if I did, I would create a thread for each of the position groups and the FAs therein.

Well I'm going to let it mingle for awhile with the other non-sticky threads, since, for some reason, stickied threads have a tendency to be forgotten and overlooked when browsing the forum.

Wouldn't LJ Shelton be an upgrade over Kazcur ?

BTW thanks, this is great info.

There is still some quality out there. Maybe this was a good year to sit back and see who falls through the cracks so you can grab somebody for low dollars...

Let's say you gave BB/Pioli an expansion team and had them pick their team from this list. Adding in their draft (#1 pick) how many games do they win in their first year?

I say 7-8 and fighting for the last playoff spot.

:rocker:

Wasn't the Titan's CB Reynaldo Hill well regarded as something of a 'find' (he was drafted in 7th round) until last year when he dropped off the face of the map? He's young, was reasonably productive (by the numbers) his first two years and only would require a 7th rounder in compensation as a RFA. How bad could he be now? Given his pro experience, he'd have to be worth more in camp than some no-name rookie picked in this year's 7th round.

For future reference, the link below lists all types of FA's by team and their up to date status. Handy...

I'm sure there are a lot of teams interested with a veteran minimum type deal.

Since Hobson knows he can get that any time, it makes sense for him to wait. Maybe some teams situation changes next week/next month and is willing to pay him more. If not, he signs where he wants and gets to miss out of the "voluntary" off season program - something that a great many veterans are very happy to do.
