it costs maybe $1Mill for replacement turf. To your above point, if Kraft is banking on this to sway public opinion/perception (waranted or unwarranted) that he's a "spender", than he's a bigger idiot than the clowns in Washington and Dallas.

Do you seriously think Kraft is spending a million dollars on field turf to sway the public perception on his spending habits? I'm sure on a day the Pats franchise Wilfork that the lead sports story on tonights news is how Kraft spent big bucks to replace the field turf.

I doubt very much that Bob Kraft loses any sleep over "sway[ing] public opinion/perception" about his spending.

He's built one of the most valuable franchises in the NFL, watched his teams go to four SB's, (winning three) in the past decade and is one of the most well-regarded owners in all of sports, including internationally. Let's not delude ourselves that he wastes any time worrying about what we think about how he spends his money.

It's called protecting your investment. When all of your multi-million dollar players (investments) are running around on your turf, wouldn't you want the one that leaves them the least likely to suffer catastrophic injury? It's common sense, and I really, really doubt that it has anything to do with public opinion. Fail.

Especially since it's only a very small and very dumb minority of fans that question it in the first place.

Nope....It's all about money. Read the quote from Jonathan.

“When we heard that FieldTurf was finalizing the development of Duraspine PRO, we wanted to be one of the first to have it. The surface will set the stadium apart, particularly for soccer events, which pay close attention to the differences in playing surface dynamics when choosing venues.”

What the Kraft family needs to do to change my opinion is upgrade the HORRIBLE video boards in each endzone! Worst quality of any 'new; stadium.

 What? I've been to every single home game since the building opened and always thought the video screens were great. What do you think is wrong with them? At least the Pats have two; some stadiums only have one (Buffalo).

i agree in 99 the pats give ty law a 6 year 50 million doller contract with 15 million up front. that was the biggest deal in pats history. and at the time only QB's were makeing 9 million a year. that was unheard of for a CB. now 10 years latter. still the top CB only make 9 million a year.
