Day 10, 1st practice

FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots have taken the field for their first practice on the 10th day of training camp. This is the team's 15th overall workout since camp opened on July 28.

Rookie tight end Garrett Mills is present on the field, marking his first practice.

Each of the injured players who returned yesterday -- safety Rodney Harrison, cornerback Randall Gay, center Dan Koppen, tight end Daniel Graham, and defensive linemen Johnathan Sullivan and Richard Seymour -- are all present again.

Among those players not spotted are receivers John Stone, Chad Jackson and Troy Brown; running back Patrick Pass; safety Ray Ventrone; inside linebacker Tedy Bruschi; offensive tackle Nick Kaczur; tight end Benjamin Watson; outside linebacker Chad Brown; and defensive linemen Jarvis Green and Marquise Hill.

This workout is being held in full pads.

We'll have more later in the day.

The season hasn't even started yet and our WRs are already banged up.

Hope Stone is okay... reports on him are starting to get intruiging.

If PATSNUTme is at the morning practice today, he's in for a pleasant surprise. He didn't think Rodney would be out there today. :D

Patience. Better now than in a month!

Generally very good news but we really need Jackson out there soon with DB (you can read Deion Branch, I read ****Breath) still sitting at home sulking.

Time to see what our penciled in H-back can do.

Be interesting to see how he lines up in the formations today.

As Bill Parcells once said about rookie Chris Slade "He looks like a golf ball in the tall grass.....Lost."

These hurt guys shouldn't be THAT lost. It's not like they've been holding out and sitting at home like DB. They're there for all the classroom stuff.

He lined up lost? That must be difficult to do.

Slade was a favorite whipping boy of Parcells at the old Smithfield training camps where you could hear all the Tuner's many ascerbic comments. Miss that.

It was fun watching Tuna at training camp in Smithfield. You could hear him barking at guys all over the place. I remember once he yelled at a group of players standing together on the field, "You guys -- shut up!" Another time he was with a defensive lineman and told him to "Kick the sh!t out of the guy." At the end of practice the team came together at midfield with Tuna in the middle. He must've said something really funny, because the whole team burst into laughter.

Marquise Hill is one player, out hurt, that can't afford to be. In other words, he could be bye bye if he doestn't get back to show what he can do soon.

If we cut this bust his old coach Saban will sign him in Miami.

I'd expect a bidding war with Cleveland, and maybe Duh Jest.

Seriously, if Hill returns to the field, plays and IF he gets cut for say Wright, I wonder if we couldn't play those 3 teams against each other for say a 6th round pick with performance upgrade to a 5th for Hill? We've not done well with round 2 picks lately.

This thread brought to you by the "We should trade Davey for a second rounder" Foundation.

Mike Reiss in his noon chat expects Hill to make the roster.

If Hill stays, and if Wright makes the team and if Mrs B's report that Sully is now playing 2nd team NT, then where's the 53 slot for Klecko?

Trade him to the Jets for an early Day One pick? (incoming!)
