It was previously reported here that WR Joey Galloway's contract with the Patriots was a one-year package with a $1.15 million base salary.

Galloway's deal also includes a $600,000 signing bonus. That puts his salary cap charge at approximately $1.75 million for the 2009 season.

The contract reflects, among other things, how the Patriots view the 37-year-old Galloway as a strong candidate to become their No. 3 receiver.

Sounds like a reasonable deal, Miguel will have to bump it up from 1.15M

I wouldn't call that reasonable for a 37-year-old, I was hoping for the vet minimum. But if he can get back to his form from before last year, I don't mind.

What you get for veteran's minimum is a player the calibre of Jason

Webster who is guaranteed not to make your team.

The Pats really seem to think he can make a strong contribution this season, I happen to agree.

I'll co-sign that check! Errr...not literally, of course.

Really looking forward to seeing what Joey can do with the team!

You wouldn't have gotten him for the vet minimum. Before his injuries last year he'd had three straight 1,000+ yard seasons. Unless he suddenly slows down this offseason he'll be the best WR that the Moss/Welker combination has played with.

Dallas thought enough of him that they forfeited two #1 draft

picks to Seatlle to sign him.
