Practice notes

A few quick notes from practice today:

Kicker Martin Gramatica was among the players not present in the media access period of practice, leaving rookie Stephen Gostkowski to handle all kicking chores. Coach Bill Belichick previously said he had yet to decide on how the kicking duties would be split on Saturday but this could be an indication on the way the team is leaning.

Receiver John Stone returned to practice after missing a long stretch of workouts. Players not spotted at practice included receiver Chad Jackson, safety Guss Scott, safety Ray Ventrone, inside linebacker Freddie Roach, inside linebacker Tedy Bruschi, defensive lineman Le Kevin Smith, defensive lineman Dan Klecko, defensive lineman Marquise Hill, defensive lineman Jarvis Green, and outside linebacker Chad Brown.

During stretching, Belichick spent a few moment s chatting with inside linebacker Junior Seau as Seau prepared for his second practice with the team.

Safety Rodney Harrison, who previously spoke about wanting to string together three to four straight practices, was present for the full pads workout.

Come on, Chad's hammy. Heal thyself. ASAP. Christ.

I'm not sure that's a respectful prayer format

Could this mean the rookie has the inside track on the K? I can't see BB taking up 2 position spots for it so I'd say it's Gostkowski's job to lose.

That's hilarious, but at the same time maybe his hammy really does need Devine Intervention.

Hmm. Sounds like maybe BB leaning towards the rook @ K. I wonder if he'll release Martin now and give him a chance to catch on with anyone? Or wait until the end of cutdowns, sniff out a team desperate for a viable K and get a 7th for him.

With injuries to Vanderjag and Vinijag, Colts & Pokes could be legit partners, esp. if Martin keeps showing he is out of his slump.

What a shocker, Klecko out of practice! He's the poster child for full-season health! He could be our best player too!

Dear Mr. Belichick:

Please get rid of the dead weight. Cut Klecko now. May he sign with the Jets and play for a bad to mediorce team for the rest of his playing days - just like his Daddy.

Thank you,

Garbanza
