This speaks volumes about the direction this offense is headed. Forget about records, this O could be downright scary to get off the field once a few more kinks get ironed out.

I'd like to see more Edelman, but there are just SO many good pass catchers on the team right now it's almost embarrassing.

Sure would be nice to have a similar problem on defense...

I've been hearing this offense will be "scary" for months. When's it going to actually happen?

SBPatfan, 38 points should win just about every game any team plays. If we can keep that up, we're going to be just fine--even if the defense gives up 30 points a game.

Well, they scored 14 the week before. And 10 of those points the defense gave up to the Bills were somewhat of the offense's fault. They were good but nothing amazing.

Have you even been watching the games? I even expect the offense to become more consistent as the season goes on.

Still some minor issues to work out. I still wouldnt call it a top 5 offense in the league at this point. The first drive yesterday was as perfect as you can get. The offense has the potential to be a top 5 offense this year, but does need some improvement in some areas like the running game and consistency on 3rd down.

I would definitely say they are a top 5 offense. What are 5 teams that you think are better offensively?

Yes, the only game the offense won for us was the Bills. Cincinnati was a combined effort of Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams scoring. They forgot the game was four quarters long last week.

The offense has been good, that's about it.

I like the escalation of Hernandez's playing time.:)

Based on stats the Pats are 7th in the league in total offense. SD, Denver, Indy, Houston, Dallas and Atlanta are all ahead of the Pats. Granted it is only week 3, but still. I would say that the Packers and Saints all have a better offense than the Pats. I would say the Pats are in the 6-10 range in best offenses in the league.

    52 of 68 is excellent

Prior to yesterday Hernandez has played 67 of 123 offensive snaps

Awesome! He's had some eye popping plays every week so far. Are we looking at the NFL OROY? Who else would be in contention?

They can only score when they have the ball. Take the Cincy game. An ST and D TD take the ball out of their hands twice. Cincy has long drive after long drive. The Pats O scored nearly every time they had the ball - same as yesterday.

I don't know who or what site tallies points per possession, but I bet the Patriots end up in the top 2-3 for that by year's end.

    Disable Jersey

    Good observation.

Now if BB, O'Brien and Brady can only figure out how to score TDs in the 2nd half against the better defenses, say like the JETs, and then actually go out and DO it including on the road, then we're a top 5 offense.

I think this post nails it exactly. They are very good right now with some minor inconsistency. If they overcome that inconsistency they move to great status.

True - that's the tricky part.

Well, a week from tonight we'll find out where we stand in that regard.

Definitely Best, so far. I think Dez Bryant might make a push too. The Rams beat the skins yesterday; Sam Bradford might work his way into contention. Demaryius Thomas and Jermaine Gresham have both been contributing in pretty significant ways, and McCluster has been pretty dynamic over in KC... Hernandez is a longshot, IMO, but it could happen.

The Packers are terrible at RB.
