Not at all. It's obvious that the team is desperate about the O-line, linebackers and D-line.
And it should be.
Actually, desperation would be to cave to mankins
Good article I thought--Reiss taking a decidely anti-homer line on this one.
He raises interesting points about the relatively poor drafting of Olinemen the last couple of years (Vollmer excluded), as well as BB's being a realist in the sense that this team obviously needs some veteran depth, especially on D, which wasn't going to be filled by guys already on the roster. AD, Burgess, Galloway, Holt, Patten, Seau and D. Lewis were all moves with this same idea in mind. Even though none worked out, who's to say that a couple of these new acquisitions won't buck that trend. And every team goes through this type of trial and error roster shuffling every year.
I especially like the acquisition of Ojinaka--having a quality guy vs. 2 or 3 JAGS can only be a good thing for the O-line, even if he turns out to be a 1 year rental.
I, for one, am sick of all of this doom and gloom BS.
Save that for the Sox, this team is the Patriots, and not one team in the NFL is taking them for granted.
Enough with the dark clouds bullcrap. Thank you.
May I climb down off of my soap box now?

NO! Stay up there. And stay proud. I join you on that soapbox.
I believed in this team even if others won't.
Let me tell you about another team I believed in. They were a bad football team. Much weaker than than this one. Yet I believed in that team even when others didn't
Unlike this team that is coached by an three time superbowl champion head coach, the head coach of that team had only had one winning season in his 6 seasons as a head coach. That head coach was so bad that he had been fired from another team for having a dismal 36-44 record. Yet I believed in that team that few others believed in.
Unlike this team which has a history of winning, this team has with in the decade been with in one game of a perfect season and went 18-1. That team had a history of losing and in the past decade and been with in one game of a perfectly awful season having gone 1-15. Yet I believed in that team even though nobody thought they had a chance.
Unlike this team which is coming off of winning the AFCE with a record of 10-6 record that team had finished in last place in the AFCE with a record of 5-11. Yet I believed in that team.
And I have to say the season for that team did start off well. In fact they lost their first two game, starting the season 0-2. Yet I continued to beleive in that team when others lost hope.
Like this team, the team only had a few players that were household name, most of the players being nobodies. Yet I believed in that team.
Even after in the second game when the only real star on the team got injured, a pro-bowl player that was being replaced by a 6th round nobody. I believed continued to believe in that team.
Did anyone else on this board believe in them or am I the only one?
You believed in the 2009 team, too. Trumpet that one.
Yeah, "desperation" being used at this point by a fan? Dude, please go pull for the JETS already. You'll fit right in over there.
Faith is deliberate confidence in the character of Belichick whose ways you may not understand at the time. You believed in the 2009 team, too. Trumpet that one.
Larsen - cut
Ohrnberger - cut
Bussey - cut
Welch - cut
Ghiacius - signed, then cut
Simmons - signed, then cut
Ojinnaka - traded for
Stapleton - signed, then cut
Steve Maneri - claimed
Mankins - unsigned
Kaczur - switching positions, injured to the point of requiring back surgery, still kept on active roster
Keep living in the land of unicorns and fairy princesses, though.
