Gostkowski for 3 Practice Squad Player

Does anyone think we have a legitimate chance at flipping this guy? Anyone know what his general feelings are towards us as an organization? I still think he is an incredible talent and would be my free agent target (of course Welker and Waters are must keeps) for the offensive side of the ball.

His age and history is the perfect fit on the team if you judge Belichick's strange love for old and close to washed up receivers.

Joey Galloway,David Patten,OchoStinko and Tory Holt all agree to that.

Problem is ....Of these 4 retreads, Only Stinko remained with the team once the RS started

I hear you on the older WR, but I think Wayne has 2 more productive years in him. This guy was a 1300 yard receiver the last time he had a decent QB throwing him the ball. He almost broke the 1,000 yard mark this year with a couple of plumber joes throwing him the ball.

As we saw with Ochostinko though,When you are with ONE team for over 10 years it is incredibly hard to adjust to a new team's offense once in your mid to late 30s

I think Wayne, just like Ocho would look lost out there in this offense.....then again like I said,he fits the bill as potential for Pats training camp for washed up and slow receivers who were once all pros.

Put the money into defensive players.

Indeed, they do also need WR help though, and Wayne could help a lot.

I would be willing to bet that the Colts offense has as many option route reads as the Patriots

After suffering a 2-14 season, perhaps he would be agreeable to coming to a Super Bowl contender.

He's 34 yrs old. Let's get a WR who has at least 4 -5 yrs left, not someone who's a year or 2 away from retirement.

Lets get FA who has some yrs left and draft a WR also. If Floyd slips to late teens or early 20's i'd like to see us move up and get him.

Wasn't Jabar Gaffney the best #2 receiver FA acquisition the team has had under BB? He was 26 when he signed with the Pats, having spent 4 years in the league, and even then, he red-shirted for a year until he became effective.

The Pats have missed on every receiver they've acquired who has been on the wrong side of 30, with the exception of sure HOF-er Randy Moss.

I have a feeling we would be behind wherever Peyton lands and Indy if they aren't totally scrapping that offense for Luck and two or three teams with longstanding WR issues and cap space to throw stupid money at him. I thought Indy might be tempted to tag him if Manning remained but they have some cap issues and talent gaps to fill and if they're going to retain a WR for Luck it may be the younger and cheaper Garcon.

He's always been a solid player and a heady player who was in a simpler system but was under pressure as Manning's 1-1a his whole career. That said, learning to fit into a whole other system after a decade may not appeal to a guy who wants to have the best shot at seeing most of whatever contract he signs. He has said recently he really feels like a Hoosier (aka I'd just as soon stay regardless...).

I know Bill likes his game. But he supposedly liked Chad's too...only it didn't translate. I also think Reggie had lost something even before last season. Maybe intensity or just half a step, but he and Manning were struggling off and on through 2010. He's got a lot of wear on his tires too. Turns 33 in November and he's played in 170+ games and started 160. Lloyd turns 31 in July and he's got a lot less wear on his tires and has played his best ball for Josh in this system with nothing nearly as good as Brady as a QB. If you're going to target a veteran FA he's got to be your first choice unless he prices himself out of this market.

Think younger and you get Garcon now that would be a guy I would want. 26 years old and what we need.

    I'd be open to it.

He's a great receiver, and his insight would be very valuable to any receivers we either draft, or trade for. He'll probably try to follow Peyton though.

Garcon would definitely be an interesting pick up. I would like to see if we can work him into the offense successfully, he's definitely young enough.

He drops a lot of balls. Also, the only inside routes he runs is the inside slant and WR screens.

Looking back at his last season I think you might be right on about him having, I know bad timing, butterfingers. He was 70 for 134 about a 50% completion rate.

The biggest drop I remember from him was in the SB. He had the ball in his hands on 3rd down and dropped it. Colts punted and the Saints scored a fg prior to half time.

Not Garcon. He doesnt have sure-hands..

RobertMeachem and Marques Colston are better bets. Any (or both) plus BrandonLloyd.

CUT OCHO (2more yrs on his contract! BillB must have been on drugs) !

    Branch is done!

RobertMeachem, BrandonLloyd, Welker. Hern and Gronk.

Update Safety position via draft. CB as well.

    Get a veteran pass rusher/OLB.
