When do we find out the refs for this game?

Also, Which crew do we want?

I just sacrificed a goat hoping that we don't get Ed Hochuli.
Yeah, when I saw the title to this thread my first thought was 'anybody but Ed Hochuli'.

who cares really...refs gotta hate jets more an us

I'd say anyone but the officiating crew from the New England - Denver game

Divisional Round at Denver Broncos (2005 season)

R- Jeff Triplette
U- Jeff Rice
HL- Tony Veteri
LJ - Jeff Seeman
FJ - Duke Carroll
SJ - Greg Meyer
BJ - Greg Steed (Or Sneed. Different stories have it as one or the other)

The BJ threw a bogus flag on Asante Samuel (on what should have been offense PI) and as Phil Simms said at the time, "I always say there's no such thing as a late flag. That was a LATE flag." It handed Denver the ball at first and goal and set the tone for the rest of the game.

I think it's less about preferential treatment than it is horrible judgement. Refs like Hochuli make ridiculous calls in big moments that can sway the game one way or the other.

I'd hate for the game to be determined that way, even if it means a Patriots a win. Of course, I'd feel a lot worse if the Pats lost on a crazy call.

Ouch. I almost succeeded in erasing that game from my memory. A truly horrible, game-changing call. It was almost like the ref belatedly remembered that he bet $10K on Denver.

Dont think you find out until the night before to prevent shady characters from contacting them.

IIRC they don't have crews doing two post season games in a row so that eliminates a) Steratore b)Pete Morelli c) Walt Coleman d) Mike Carey.

You're right. They only get one playoff game, not including the SB. That means they have six more crews for the remaining games. Those four were probably the lowest-ranked crews that were picked for the playoffs. Let's hope Hochuli didn't make it.

jeff tripplett is actually pretty good. he was the ref in the 2007 AFCCG.

Playoffs/Super Bowl

Its Bill Leavy's crew.

  • Head Linesman: 26 – Mark Baltz
  • Line Judge: 9 – Mark Perlman
  • Field Judge: 63 – Jim Quirk
  • Side Judge: 20 – Barry Anderson
  • Back Judge: 61 – Keith Ferguson

that's more for the nba. those cheating crackheads from philly. i think the nba's been fixed since stern became commissioner. another cheatin' nyer. i think stern needs to spend a little time in jail, like his refs.

would it surprise me that the ref's are fixing games in the nfl ? hell no !

Leavy's a pretty safe crew from what I have been reading. Or at least theres not criticism like there is for Carey, Hochuli, Tripplette etc..

Leavy let's guys play, so be prepared for a lot of the patented "Revis holding the F out of the WR on every play with no flags being thrown" routine.

Our friend, Walt Coleman.

Not good for the Jets - all of our DB's tend to be physical.

Wow, he actually called a lot of interference penalties.

But I thought "we finesse"?

In any event, that's a lot of PI calls. Better let Butler take a seat for this one; he's a flag magnet, though I'd say about 50% of them are unwarranted or very borderline.
