I don't think religion played any part in this actually. The woman is mentally ill and would have done something horrific with or without religion.

But do you think this would have had a religious overtone, if she was not exposed to religion? I suspect that there will be a link to religious extremism.

Well "satan" and "god" are so heavily ingrained into the psyche of our society that it's not as if you could run the experiment in a religion-less vacuum. I think she would have committed the crime without any religion whatsoever, but she's used the judeo-christian allegory as a way to rationalize her own insanity IMO. If it wasn't christianity it would be "evil spirits" or something. When you have voices in your head and uncontrollable behavioral outbursts vague spiritual stories answer the "why?" question in the same way they answer all difficult questions. It's a one-size-fits-all crutch. Plus, she's just nuts; she probably incorporates all sorts of whacked out pop-culture stuff into her head. Hinkley wanted to shoot Reagan to impress Jodie Foster and the Son of Sam thought his dog was telling him to kill people for example.

There are people in the world today that still "Stone" human beings to death and "Behead" their own daughters because they let a man see their face, all in the name of their "GOD"

She was on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds. She'd tried to kill herself before. She was obviously not right, and probably shouldn't have been alone with the child (children).

Blaming "god" is, as Wildo said, a handy crutch--for her and others.

Could be...don't think so, since it sounds like she had the depression thing longer than she'd had the church thing, according to the article.

BTW--why don't you PM the real Box o rocks and ask him how he feels about being me?
    Or...me being him...or you being NEM...or...what now?

    :D

And if you don't stop, I'm going to go cry to a mod and make you stop!;):p

Now you're just being silly. Did you read Wildo's post where he said he joined after Box left and he knew the story? It's not hard to figure out if you read and pay attention. Just because I don't post on the main board that often doesn't mean I don't read the posts there.

I really hope you're doing this because it amuses you, and not because you're actually getting that paranoid, flex.

So let me see I PM BOR and you answer your PM thats convincing. And before you say it can't be done i've seen it done a number of times in the last two years i.e. posters having two names.

It does amuse me. But I also don't buy your story, but stick to it.

Well, as I told you last night, feel free to contact any mod you choose and ask them to check my IP.

Although I really want to see you post a reply to BOR in the main forum...and call him 'a.paul'. Not that his reaction would convince you, but at least you'd demonstrate your paranoia to a larger audience.

    Enjoy yourself! :D

Because he was posting yesterday about it? I think it's in the Tillman thread. He says something like "you were told to stop by one of the head mods".

    Dude--don't make this so easy.

I wouldn't know. For one I don't don't pay attention to who posts where, and when. I don't read every post of every thread.
