Say what your want but let's put the mutual angst aside for a second. This will be the last regular season ( and possibly the very last ) time the Patriots play in the Hoosier/RCA Dome. Can't say you have been visitors often of late but in any event this is it. It is THE smallest venue in the NFL ( not that is something to be proud of) and ranks up there in age. ( Lambeau, Metrodome, Arrowhead). I am sure you all have memories of the old Foxboro Stadium... For me ( regardless of the outcome, including your predicted 52-7 romping) this game will close a huge chapter in my football spectating life. How could we have gone from ZERO regular home games televised locally to this ? If you are going to the game, please show the class that I know you all have and stop by the corner of South and Pennsylvania to say HI. I think you will know who I am when you get there. - C

When they blow that place up are they going to pipe in fake explosion noises?

The old Foxboro stadium sucked. Is your new place domed? The noise level has been a huge weapon for the Colts (not that they've needed it) but I'd like to see that go.

Cheers to that, it's always sad to see an old stadium go. The demolishing of the Boston Garden is still one of the sadder moments of my life.

Lucas Oil Stadium? Man, I'm sorry, that makes RCA and Gillette sound catchy.

DON'T EVEN ASK.... when they announced it I was floored.. I don't even know what Lucas Oil is or does.. All I know is the owner has a lot of cash. Naming rights were $122 million over 20 years.. must be nice.

Been on the waiting list for season tickets for years. Hopefully I'll be able to get some nosebleeds with the extra seats the new stadium will provide.

    Please notice that...

THE SMALLEST VENUE IN THE NFL... STILL couldn't sell out. I moved to Indy before the season that Jim Harbaugh took the Colts to the AFC Championship game.

I remember attending the last game of the season. The 8-7 Colts were playing the 6-9 Pats. If the Colts win, they're in. If they lose, they're out... and guess what, THE FREAKIN' GAME WASN'T A SELLOUT!

That's why I will continue to argue until the day that I die that Colts fans are the biggest fair weather fans in the United States of America. They don't deserve a Super Bowl Champion.

I, for one am glad to see the RCA Dome go. My high school team played two games there. The first time, the ground was no better than concrete. I mean, it was painful to get tackled there. The second time, the turf was a little bit better, but I still couldn't walk the next day. It is at best a slightly better version of Syracuse's Carrier Dome... if you have ever been to the Carrier Dome, then you know that's not close to a compliment.

With all of that being said, Lucas Oil Stadium is looking pretty good. I wish it was an outdoor stadium, but I know that the fans would throw a hissy fit if that was the case. Regardless, it will truly be a state of the art facility.

Oh now easy, you're bitter because you and your Decatur Central team never won a state championship becuase my Ben Davis Patriotlike domination during your playing days put the kabosh to those dreams. Isn't it lights out there in the trailer park down there?

The architecture firm that designed the Carrier dome designed RCA. It was a Carrier domelite from day one. Remember we didn't even have close to an NFL team when it was completed.

Is there any truth to the rumor that they shut the air vents off when the Patriots were on defense in the AFC CG last year? I know that many of the Patriots were cramping up at the end of that game and because of that the Pats had to play the 2nd and 3rd stringers on D during the Colts last drive. Some of this could have been due to several Pats players were suffering from the flu. I know Red used to pull that type of thing in the old Boston Garden. Also, is the piped in sound also a rumor?

The RCA Dome is small, and doesn't have many amenities, but from my experiences last year at the AFCCG, it's a pretty solid place to watch a football game (well, as good as a place with a roof can be.) I did a walk around the stadium pre-game, and the sightlines seemed to be very good, and with the smaller capacity, it was easy for every seat to seem close to the action. I was right on the 50 in the upper deck, and the seats were great. Compared to the Pontiac Silverdome (the 80,000 seat cavernous piece of crap), the RCA Dome was a palace.

That said, I was talking with some Colt fans about the new stadium, and that sounds very awesome.

No offense, but that place looks like a barn or autoshop. That's not a hick joke or anything, it just looks weird. I get chills just driving past Gillette. That place does not look chill-inducing.

Cool looking stadium. Reminds me of Reliant Stadium in Houston...which I love.

Really? I think it sucks. Maybe it's me. I'm sure it will be nice inside.

    Disable Jersey

I was just thinking the same thing. Like an over-sized version of a nineteen-forties small industrial building.
