Danny Woodhead has a new home: he's agreed to a two-year deal with the Chargers, reports @MikeReiss.

Hopefully this means a bigger role for Vereen.

I'd be lying if I said I'm too torn up about it. I like the kid, but between Vereen and Washington, it shouldn't be too hard to replace his production. Best of luck to him, and I hope he got a lot of money from them. I'm sure Rivers will love having him playing the part of a poor man's Darren Sproles

We moved on with Washington. Woodhead moved on. And yes, we all expect to see Vereen with more reps.

That sucks to see him go but I'm confident Vereen can take his place + do even more

No surprise. Wish him the best with his new team.

    No Jersey Selected

This puts the Leon Washington signing into more perspective. Looks like Shane Vereen will need to improve upon his pass protection this offseason if he wants to stake claim to that 3rd down back role.

Thank you, Danny Woodhead, for all of your contributions to the Patriots' organization. Best of luck in San Diego, buddy.

I felt that Vereen was a more dynamic and gifted player. But, the real writing on the wall was the Washington signing.

I liked Woodhead, but he will not be missed.

Unless you're Danny's mom or sibling it's kind of ridiculous to have this reaction to him leaving the team.

Let's get more explosive players on the field, the more playtime Vereen gets, the better.

It'll be funny if people start freaking out over this.

There is a lot of room on the Jets and Bills bandwagon...

It's a good fit for him and them. They've missed having a Darren Sproules type. Good luck DW hopefully they don't burn your jersey too.

This one stings. I'm glad he has found himself an increased chance to make some money though.
