Funny thing is almost everyone here would have put Rivers 1-4 in the last few years. Shows how much we know.

I love Brady as much as the next guy but I think it's kind of hard to not have Rodgers at #1 right now.

What a silly notion, given Brady's past two seasons.

I am not including Peyton in these rankings. If he's healthy, he's right at or near the top. But I don't think it's fair to rank him since we don't know how he'll be.

As for me being a homer putting Brady at one, call me whatever you'd like. I'd still pick him over anyone else.

    #93 Jersey

How does being non-clutch help hold the #1 spot on any list of top quarterbacks in the league? The question was not about regular season stats or career numbers, it is about who is best right now.

    1. Brady
    2. Rogers
    3. Brees
    4. Stafford
    5. Roethlisberger
    6. Eli Manning
    7. Newton
    8. Rivers
    9. Ryan
    10. Cutler

incomplete based on uncertain health status, age, and a new system: Peyton Manning.

And I answered that! He is the best in the league when healthy, the same as Dan Marino was. They just arent clutch. Similar to Eli Manning unable to play consistantly during the regular season.
Thats the way I see it, how is putting Newton with one year and a 6-10 record on the top 10 less questionable?
    Because it's all opinion!

I'm not sure what you're basing your opinion on, though. The numbers don't support your claim. History doesn't support your claim. Recent MVP voting doesn't support your claim.

    etc....

But the non-clutch qualification you have to offer would seem to demand that your contention is:

He is the best in the league when healthy, except for the many situations demanding clutch play, such as playoff games.

I cannot fathom why situations demanding clutch play would be excluded from the overall analysis.

Sure it's just opinion, and all of us are entitled to an opinion, but when the opinion and the accompanying comment are in complete opposition, you should expect that some might want you to explain why you feel lack of clutchness is insignificant with respect to evaluating QB play.

Brady has faced higher quality defenses for the most part than Rodgers has.

Agree. It's actually quite lame that he does that. Great QB though, but yeah the belt thing is stupid.

Brady's better than Manning in nearly every measurable statistic, not the least of which are rings, wins, winning %, playoff winning % (by a country mile), QB rating, and TD/INT ratio.

Brady ended the debate several years ago. Where have you been?
