Before this week, I was not sure if Moss would be back. I thought he would be back, but I wasn't really sure.

Now, I think it is basically done.

Tom Brady on Randy Moss potentially leaving...

"Randy and I are a package deal,” Brady said, smiling. “I don’t want Randy going anywhere. I’m going wherever Randy’s going. He goes, I go. I like that.” He added, “I’d love to play with him for as long as he wants to continue playing. I told him I’m playing for another 10 years so if he can play another 10, great.”

Moss on staying in New England.

"I would love to finish my career [here] just for the fact of they have everything you want in a football organization," Moss said. "They handle things from the top, all the way to the bottom, and they do a good job of that. With Coach Belichick and his coaching staff, we have a lot of fun. The fun that we have it not on the field, it’s in the locker room or hanging out at guys’ houses and stuff like that. The team concept is not just on the field, it’s outside the locker room. For me to be able to say that I would love to become a New England Patriot and finish my career here, that is something I can really believe in.”

Now nothing in guaranteed, but if both sides are speaking the truth, I don't see the Moss-Brady duo ending this season.

the dynamic duo :rocker: :singing: :rocker: :eat3:

..."I’m going wherever Randy’s going. He goes, I go.”

I know this is overall a positive (as I'm taking the quote out of context). But reading that part actually scared the crap out of me. :p

Moss isn't going anywhere. Just look at it this way.

-Brady losses Branch. We don't make the Super Bowl and Brady complains.
-Belichick goes out and gets Moss
-With Moss, the Patriots become the first team to go 18 (19 hopefully)-0. Both Brady and Moss break records.

There is NO way Belichick takes Moss away from Brady. Randy WILL be here for a while.

If free agency begins on Monday as I think I just heard S. Pioli just say, can we sign RM to an extension next week or do we have to wait for a certain date?

Can someone clarify that for me?

I think it comes down to what happened with Seymour where they can not sign more than 1 contract in 12 months while under contract. Randy has to become a free agent so we can sign him.

I believe I heard on the news that there's something in the bargaining agreement, that they can't extend Moss until the start of free agency. That's worrisome. Does that mean that other teams can make offers to him? I hate this.

I believe he wants to come back and I believe the team wants him back. Lot's of things can happen along the way, but I see him resigning as well

Brady is finally using his authority. He remembers what It was like to not have Branch or Givens. He's not going back to that, no way in hell. He made his wants loud and clear to the front office with that statement.

I dunno why any of you are worried. Look, do you people realize how far his stock had fallen before going to the Patriots? This is a guy a year ago who was worth a first rounder. I think Moss sees this, he's going to stay here. Brady assured it in that article. When do you ever see a Patriot comment on that kind of stuff? Never, you get the company line. But Brady knows Moss is the butter to his bread. Together they'll form a good offense for about four years before any decline begins. Add to the fact the Patriots will probably add youth to the receiving corps and I feel good about the future.

why the hell would he? The guy was one of the top QB's last season when he had NOTHING. Weapons make Brady a lot more lethal.

All season long, Brady and Moss have looked like they've found their football soulmates. No matter what you do for a living it's a rare joy to be able head to work every morning knowing you'll be with people you genuinely like and respect, doing great things. I had one blessed year of a job like that. If I had a chance of reuniting that group of people I'd gladly take a big paycut to make it happen.

The most important quote was Tom Brady saying "I'm playing ten more years"
10 Years = at least 3 more SB. 7 is alucky number

That quote bothered me too.
But than I figured that's how confident everybody is in the organization that Randy will stay. So...:eat1:

Umm...the Brady comment about he'll go where Moss goes is kind of scary. It will be awful if somehow he doesn't return. But I'm 99% sure that he'll be back. But you never know.

So you figure there's a 1% chance that the Patriots will trade Brady?

Man, imagine the trade value of that guy! ("Our #1 picks for the rest of the decade? And my first-born child? Sure, where do I sign?") :)

Both sides ARE speaking the truth!
You just don't hear intensity like that from either guy ... especially TB.

And those certainly are powerful twin statements, aren't they?

It's possible that TB is trying to dynamite some kind of log jam in the front office.
But words like that will get the job done!

Yeah, I wish he didn't phrase it like that with Ratgini and the Jets organizations mo of trying to steal super bowls. I had a horrible vision of Mangini thinking let's sign Randy and get Tom to hold out and force a trade. He could be near giselle all the time, and Tom would be the king of NY.
