OK, rumors are rampant that Glover is signed with the Rams. I've also heard a could of rumors that LaCharles Bentley is going to Philly and Ben Leber to Minnesota.

Since Free Agency hasn't started, shouldn't these deals be considered tampering?

If so, what are the Penalties?

If not, is it because the players are not currently under contract?

He was cut and thus a free agent. There was not contract that had to expire first.

What a shock, tampering takes place in NFL!!

How do you think those 12:01am deals of the past happened? To think that a contract can be proposed, reviewed, discussed, and accepted within one minute of the commencement of free agency is ludicrous. Of course there is tampering and the NFL does nothing about it. Remember Lawyer Milloy and the Redskins?

There is NO tampering in this case at all...his contract is terminated which is different than a contract expiring at the end of an NFL year. Glover's was terminated so he is a FA from that point on. He's also a vested vet. so he does not have to go through waivers. THAT is much different than the Bentley case...which is certainly tampering. I agree that the NFL has been VERY lax about this...and certainly once questions are asked, more need to be. What about Ted Washington who was all ready to sign here and all of a sudden at a few minutes past midnight..gone to the Raiders??? Yes, there is a ton of tampering..but in the case of Glover..not at all.
