Some say it's Kevin Durant's year for MVP, but I think it could be Rondo.

It's still early, only 6 games, but Rajon Rondo is putting up historically great numbers. 15.5 assists per game, 2.8 steals per game. He's tied or broken some assist records this year. Pretty much every other game he's been doing something historically meaningful.

Rondo is already the game's best PG at defense, fast breaks, assists, and rebounds. People say he can't shoot but his current season and also career field goal percentage is 48%, which is excellent for a perimeter player.

By the numbers you could be right ... but based on the players around them and the media love fest it will be Durant.

Rondo may become league MVP, not sure it will be this year. Those assist numbers are awesome, but there's no way he averages close to that.
In regards to Durant, more applause for Ainge. When everyone else was picking the other guy as the slam dunk pick, Ainge, by all accounts, was not going with the consensus. It would have been interesting, had the Celtics gotten the first pick, who they would have selected.

Let's hope the reports of his Plantar fasciitis are being overblown... that can cause crippling pain, though it sure doesn't appear to be slowing him down so far.

Still that's something that can get worse over time. Maybe he knows the clock is ticking.

The thing that might kill Rondo's chances are his injuries....If he can play most of the games then his #'s will be ridiculous across the board.....If he has to keep missing games then it will be in jeopardy....
