Raiders might go after McDaniels

As President Emeritus of the Josh McDaniels Fan Club #1, I think Josh needs another few Super Bowl rings first.

Let him be older than most of his players. A HC when he is 34, in five years...

And that is why they are the Oakland Raiders.

Al's hired good, young offensive HC before. Madden. Shanahan. Gruden. If he'd stuck with, and paid, either of the latter two he might have had a good run.

On McDaniels, he's certainly as qualified as Sarkesian (way moreso actually) and fits the same young, offensive mold. Al may be waiting until our season ends to talk to him before deciding between them.

Actually, he's not even close, but if everyone wants to believe that I don't suppose it makes much difference.

Yeah, I'm so tired of copying and pasting the same thing. Mangini has been a position coach,assistant position coach and staff assistant on three different teams before being a Defensive co-ordinator.

McDaniels has been a personnel assistant and a film intern, basically. QB coach and OC are kind of specialists who deal with the playbook or one player.

Dealing with offensive personnel is more the job of assistant head coach Scharneccia, Ivan Fears and others.

They are position coaches, which is unlike being strictly a QB coach because you don't have a group dynamic.

I hope McDaniels sticks around because we've got a great future on offense having gone through a very tough year.

Not worried about JM taking it, even if it were offered. But a thought came to mind. Is the Raiders job among the worst in pro sports right now?

Hard to think of too many more that would be worse.
