NU's Katz reminds Emanuel he's Jewish | International | Jerusalem Post

[National Union chairman Ya'acov "Ketzele" Katz sent a letter to White House chief-of-staff Rahm Emanuel last week admonishing him not to forget his Jewish and Israeli origins. ...Katz went on to compare Emanuel to the biblical Esther, who ended up at using her influence with Persian King Ahashverosh to intervene on behalf of the Jews of the Persian Empire...Katz was hinting that Emanuel should use his influence to protect Israeli interests, which, he believes, are best served by preventing the creation of a Palestinian state in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. ]

Glad it's at least completely out in the open, the peer pressure to put Israeli interests before American ones.

I imagine that a letter like that to Rahm Emmanuel would have about as much effect on him as a letter from someone of your faith to you. Emmanuel may be an Orthodox Jew, but that does not make him unprincipled or blindly pro-Israel. Forget for a moment he's Jewish and then process the story you posted. That's how he would think of the letter. Liberals do not put religion ahead of reason.

Religious people put their religion above all else...especially orthodox religious people of all faiths. Translate "orthodox" to "fundamentalist" and you get the same amount of devotion. Difference being that the word "orthodox" belongs to Jews and Eastern Catholics. "Fundamentalists" tend to be Muslims and non-Roman Catholic Christians -unless you include the Roman Catholic cult Gibson has made famous.

I don't like Rahm. Not because he's Jewish, but because he seems like a smarmy, full-of-himself, back-stabbing weasle. Reminds me of George Snuffeluppogus

Well, either way Katz is causing way more damage than he is trying to influence.

He's like Olmert bragging recently about how he forced Bush out of a speech to take his phone call, bragging about how much Israel has the US by the balls
